Alright Guys
Had a hearty driver to a car show this weekend [07 GTI 77k] convoying with other heavy footed drivers, this lead to some high rev, quick gear changes which on the outwards journey was fine, no problems whatsoever. On the way back i noticed the last third of the travel in my clutch pedal seemed a little slow to the extent where my foot was actually lifting off of the pedal which it never usually does. It feels like its sticking a little in that top third? driving normally its hard to notice the issue but its definitely still there. It only feels like a minor issue as there is no clutch slipping or leaking fluids, had a garage look at it for them to say they couldn't see or feel anything wrong with the clutch and they lubed up all the easily accessible parts. There are no squeaks and no issue putting the car into any gear.
Any ideas what the issue could be? someone suggested maybe bleeding the system? i mentioned that to the garage but the guy seemed reluctant to do it as if there was an issue with either the Master or slave cylinder, bleeding them could make them fail completely?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I assume you also haven't had the master cylinder or slave cylinder replaced? a lot of the threads i see mention having them replaced with no affect? Ive also seen posts where people have replaced the clutch completely with no affect? its just such an annoying problem, doesn't affect the car to drive in anyway, unless you want to drive it hard... i havent found one post with a resolution to the problem

Standard or uprated clutch?

Bump - anyone? It's bugging the hell out of me

Is the pedal catching on something?
How many miles on the clutch? If it's getting on a bit, the pressure plate springs might have weakened. If not that, it could an issue with hydraulics....master, slave, lines, damper thing above the gearbox, worn out thrust bearings in the crank, excessive end float in the gearbox input shaft.....loads of things.

I've checked and it's not catching on anything. It's only when changing gear at high rpm, it seems to return slowly when lifting the foot off the clutch. Driving normally the issue isn't noticeable at all, maybe I just need to bleed the system? I need to get his resolved as I don't want this issue to get worse and potentially damage things like the transmisison

My GTI also does this exact problem, if anyone knows of a fix it would be appreciated
