Title: NGK PFR7B sparkplugs on a unmodified Pirelli?
Post by: oisinc on May 11, 2017, 05:47:26 pm
Just wondering If I can use the NGK PFR7B in a unmodified Pirelli?

Most threads seem to recommend them for tuned motors.

Dont want to put them in if they'll cause issues.

Thanks

I used them on the K04'd mk5 when I ran my DM tune. They are fine without mods...but oem shouldn't give you troubles either. Mostly the NGK PFR7B @ 0.028" are used when high PSI results in unexplained misfires and usually fixes them. I didn't need them with the K04 running the GIAC High Output file...but when I tried a DM tune running @ 26 PSI...misfires and those plugs worked. Now, back to running GIAC file, I'm back to using the oem plugs without issue.

Just run standard plugs.  People seem to mess around with coils, plugs, plug gaps etc etc when there really is no need.

If you have oem installed and still have issues...the problem likely lies elsewhere and is not the plugs.
