Hello
VW warranty aren't interested as they say the paint is too thick.
So, any recent experiences of either of these?

Very handy being pre-painted!
I had bad experiences with the 'VENG' brand on older Golfs. I think they are just cheap Mexican or Chinese stampings that aren't galvanised and rot out even quicker than the factory ones! Not heard of the 'PRASCO' brand, so can't comment on that.
How much are OEM wings from the stealer? Can VW supply them pre-painted?

I just did bit of google'ing and Prasco appear to be Italian but get their stuff from a Taiwanese company called TONG YANG INDUSTRIES.
Prasco products are continually being tested. The auditors sent by major European providers of Quality Certificates are supported by engineers working for TONG YANG INDUSTRIES, Taiwan.
All I saw was TUV approved and I am not sure what that means apart from good manufacturing excellence. I didn't see anything other than electro painting and no word of a mention of galvanised.. so perhaps Puddings view is correct. Maybe one to avoid?

Where are you seeing "Prasco" from?

Prasco is stated as the brand in the 1st link...
I've been interested in these as both my wings are bubbling and they're the right colour dealership didn't want to know, asked a few times the 12 years is up next month - I couldn't even get them to check them...!!!
Patent parts could go either way could fit great could require a lot of messing also we don't know the quality of the paint job on them!!!

I'm in the same boat and have been keeping an eye on the second link for a while now. My local dealer quoted around £155 for each wing with painting on top. My only concern with the pre painted wings is if the paint match isn't very good I'll have to get them painted again which means they probably won't work out any cheaper the Oem wings painted once correctly. Either that or I'll buy pattern wings and get them painted myself. I inclined to think though that black pre painted wings should be a quite good match anyway. In a dilemma as to what's the best course of action really.

I'm going to go with genuine ones and get them painted, too much of a risk getting the cheap ones...
Getting the copy ones unpainted then test fitting before having them painted would be the best option though incase they don't fit very well...

I have a brand new pair of Tong Yang wings in Leicester I never used. £40 for both if anyone wants to try them

My dealer replaced a wing on mine, which is flat black and the paint match is perfect, no blending was required. The metallics and the reds probably a different story though!
