Title: Broken rear springs.... what to do.
Post by: Newbieintown on February 21, 2019, 04:40:21 pm
Guy I have 2 broken rear springs, can afford to go any lower in ride high. Have standard set up at the moment. VW want £198. Just for the part. What would you suggest? Don’t want to spend thousands.

Also, labour to fit rear springs should be low.  It's a very easy job, as the spring is separate from the strut.  I did mine myself in an hour.  I reckon a mechanic could do them in half the time.

If it is JUST the spring then fair enough, depends if anything else needs doing when you are under there.
On our passat it needed rear springs, eccentric toe adjustment bushes and I did the outer bushes while I was there.
What a PITA job it was, good job I knew how to remove the old bushes and get the new ones in.
