Title: High line clocks...
Post by: Ricky123 on January 25, 2020, 06:28:46 pm
Just been to have a look at another mk5 gti for sale close to me and it’s got highline clocks fitted, I’ve previously owned a few mk5’s (none gti models) with highline clocks and they all had an extra sort of menu I could access which allowed me select how long the headlights stayed on for after leaving the car and if all the doors should unlock on pressing the fob or just the drivers etc

But the gti in question didn’t have these options and it was basically the same as the mid level clocks with trip 1 and 2 but on the highline display... is this correct?

Also the previous ones I’ve had did have mfsw but this one hasn’t so is that why?

Just wanted to no as I was thinking they may have been retrofitted and coded incorrectly or need a different module?

I think you need the MFSW with them to work properly? I've not got that far on my list of upgrades yet so I've not investigated yet.

Did the car have a MFSW or the wiper stalk with MFD controls? If so you need to use them to access those menus. If it has neither it was probably a retrofitted display

This sort of stalk? If it was you use that to control the MFD, no MFSW needed. If it did have that stalk and still no menu it is possible that the coding has been changed so those menus don't appear in the MFD. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200127/e688520538d1611b690582c47e2fd84e.jpg)
