As most of you should know we upgrade our GTI brakes with a OEM R32 brakes and normally they provide a perfect fit.
I am wondering if the upgrade big brake kits for the R32; such as 6 piston monobloc brembo, do you think that break kit
would also fit the MK5 GTI as well? I wonder if anyone tired it.

If you have big enough alloys for them to fit under i don't see why not.
All the holes should be in the correct places etc for bolts, cables and the like

Does the R32 have the alloy hubs, like an S3?
I remember DaveB saying that if the BBK carrier mounts from the wheel side of the hub, then because it is different to the GTI version (a few MM thicker, thus pushing the caliper further outboard) it might not work.
EDIT - If you get the Brembo kit, DON'T spec drilled discs, they're rubbish and crack for fun. They're also horrific on spares like caliper seal kits etc, so think about maintenance costs too, they're not fit and forget like OEM brakes they take a lot of care.
The VWR kit is a much better proposition, along with the likes of Alcons and APs.

Hey ferret, did you end up getting the R32 spec'ed monobloc brembos for your gti? Was thinking of getting a kit, under the same conclusion that it SHOULD fit...

Tony the R32 doesn't have the alloy hubs or wishbones they are just normal cast ones. and when you say a few mm thicker they are 20mm thicker  the original GTI hubs from the bolt head face to the hub face is 35mm on the S3 its 55mm

So i can assume that my Tarox kit where the adaptor is sitting on the inside of the hub has to have a 20mm spacer made to sit flush with the disc??

fuscobal measured the distance and it is 16mm.
There is another topic over here: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,31377.0.html

Darn that was close.
Hmmm, haven't inspected any R32 brake setup on a GTI before - but despite the difference between the hubs they still sit safely on the GTI?

i along with many others have mk 5 1K r32/s3/cupra brakes fitted to the std. gti hubs with no problems, they also fit the S3 alloy hubs, just needs longer bolts. So an aftermarket r32 solution will fit the 1k mk 5 platform
