Hi,
Currently have 18” diamond cut monza’s on my GTI from factory. They are in dire need of refurbishment, with one having corrosion. I’ve been quoted about £85 each for refurb. However, I’m really itching to buy brand new alloys as I’m a bit bored of the monza’s.
Looking at a few on eBay (example linked below)
Has anyone bought alloys from any of the following brands; Cruize, Novus, AYR, Forzza?
What are your reviews? Would you recommend? I understand build quality can be an issue, but my budget is around 500ish. Not in a position to splash out on something like original BBS. Although, I would love the BBS CH and I know you can pick them up for a reasonable price if lucky.

The 18" Monzas look way better than those things. I don't get the craze for black alloys. They look sh1t in most cases, imo.

Got some BBS Pescaras for sale if you want
Pm me

I would personally get the monzas redone. I got mine done and look fantastic. Wouldnt change them. The only thing since ive had them done is i now have a fear of kerbs and park about 6 foot away from them

Monza’s are the best looking alloys on a GTi imo.

Getting mine refurbed is on my list after finishing buying a house. I keep looking at others but then look at Monzas and think nahhh I getting them refurbed instead

Thanks for the comments all.
I know Monza’s look great, however having had them on the car since I’ve owned it (2 years), I really fancy a change. I think that just comes down to personal taste.
I have a tornado red 3DR GTI and was hoping to get similar alloys to the photo attached. I think they look great as well.
My main question was actually in regards to build quality and whether alloys on eBay such as those brands I listed above are good and strong. So can someone shed some light on this?
I know genuine OEM alloys will be a lot stronger, but to be honest that also depends. My cousin cracked his 19” Pretoria alloy on his MK7.5 R after hitting a pothole, so sometimes even OEM may not be as strong.

TBH black can look fine with some colours and as you say it's personal taste in the end. You can also look at Jap manufacturers depending on your budget like Rays, Advan etc, they do quality wheels!

I have gloss black 18" Cades Tora that I use for winter and BBS CS5 in satin grey for the summer.........on a united grey GTI.
Both sets look great on the car imo

Me too lol.

The thing I really like about the Monza's is they're really easy to clean.

True that. Looking at getting mine refurbed. Last owner had them done in like a dark anthracite colour but it’s starting to peel.
On my black mk5. Thinking silver?

I really like bronze on black cars but not sure monzas look good in bronze so i reckon silver would be bang on. Doing mine anthracite with a silver car shortly.

Mine were refurbished in Anthracite when I bought the car 15 months ago. I think they look proper good. Goes well with the faded valance too :happy2: :signLOL:
