Its in the garage at the minute, think the plastic part is a dust cover??
can anyone shed any light on this for me?
the shock was dry with no leakage etc
cheers for any information
-
do people think this could be a new shock??
how much would a new shock be??
-
from the image it looks like you are bottoming the suspension, i'd say spring rather than shock absorber, but that' just IMO
Or the top bracket gone bad

cheers for the reply mate, the lad i sent a picture message said id been bottoming out, my roads quite bad but doubt its that.
The springs should be fine, they came off a mates car and he had no problems with them on his car

just spoke to the garage
he claims there is nothing wrong with the suspension and has stripped it down and its just the plastic cover thts at fault and said he cnt hear any knocking/clunking noises while driving it.
he then said well it has been lowered hasnt it so it could be that lol
Suspensions been stripped down and a new plastic cover has been ordered and the soonest they can get it is friday!!
No car till then booo

the clunking you hear does it happen when going round corners or turning quickly?
only reason I ask is that I noticed in another thread you have recently installed arb's, i have too and developed a clunk on the passenger side shortly after.
turned out to be the end links which is the thin bar connecting the arb you can see it if you turn the wheels on full lock, my end link ball joints had coroded over time and the install of arb's probably escalated the problem.
worth checking them out they aint too much to change c£40 or £70 for ksport uprated ones

thats not me mate, ive not got arbs fitted
clunking noise was coming from the drivers front suspension
will see what its like when i get it back friday
