Title: Driver mirror indicator replacement
Post by: Lewo on February 28, 2021, 08:46:26 pm: Got MOT this wk and the Driver mirror indicator is looking iffy, only one of the 3 led's lighting up so guess that will fail.
Any links to where I can get one sharpish or upgrade to the dynamic ones maybe?
I need to get replacement this week so I'll have time to take hours to fit for the retest lol.

Post by: MattC on February 28, 2021, 11:04:18 pm: I had dynamic indicators and passenger side one stopped working recently (only a few LEDs worked) so I replaced them with these smoked ones and I much prefer them. Dynamic doesn't really suit the mk5 IMO, looks a bit tacky (sorry :scared:).

Those are ok then? Bit pricier than the others but if they're ok then it's a maybe. Have you got any pics of them fitted?

I have the smoked dynamic indicator lens which suits the car much better (IMO). Anyway, you can see to the right edge it doesn’t sit completely flush to the line on the mirror. To be honest though, I can’t recall if my original were like that either so it might be right. But my OCD in me tells me it probably wasn’t like that.

Post by: pudding on March 02, 2021, 01:53:13 am: I just got an OEM one from the dealer when some chump clouted my mirror and smashed it off. It was only £30ish iirc. The fit and finish of aftermarket ones don't look quite as good imo, but each to our own :smiley:

I got them here off a forum member v4rley. Not sure if he’s still around and stocking but have seen plenty online at the usual places. Here’s some more pictures

As I said the fit isn’t perfect but I love the look with the smoked colour and the dynamic sweeps. I needed to replace mine anyway as I had a crack in one and saw this as a nice wee upgrade. Just over 2 years later and they are still working perfectly.

The car passed MOT so no deperate rush now but I do want to get some.
If oe are £30+ for one I'll get black or smoked I think dynamic or led.
