Hello everyone!! So today ive put a new steering wheel on my golf edition 30 and its seems now when i put the car in park and go to turn the car off and take the key out the key it gets stuck and wont come out , the only way i can get the key out of the ignition is by disconnecting the battery ,then im able to remove the key, and all ive changed is the steering wheel today and and 2 days ago i put an aftermarket dsg gear knob on. doe's anyone know why the key could be getting stuck or how to go about fixing this? any help would be very greatful. thank you :scared:

I trust you are aware you need to be in park to remove the key?
sounds like you have adjusted something in the gear-lever that it doesn't register its in park, so hangs onto the key.
it may be the gear boot blocking full travel

Yes you are right , so yesterday i changed the gear knob back to the orignal one and all working again. so what you said it must not of been registering in park, so was hangin onto the key. Thanks for the reply tho. :happy2:
