Well had this a couple of weeks now so thought i would post up a few pics and start a members ride thread just incase i get the urge to mod it  ..........i absolutely love it :jumpmove: its just done over 10,000 miles and its cleaner than clean, which is exactly what i was after.
Its had a few wee mods so far, GIAC adjustable re-map, forge intake/ filter and a Remus back box. Sitting around 315bhp and goes like a train
Plans are a TB blueflame system and a set of eibach sportline springs, maybe some ARB's too and uprated mounts at somepoint.
Anyway a few pics, will get better more detailed ones up soon

i decided to take my Edition30 off the road for winter, the roads around where i live aint the best in the snow, so bought a second hand carcoon to keep her clean and fresh over the winter months in the garage, so shes now looking like this.............
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fo233%2Fcraigyboy_01%2F612.jpg&hash=37d4b560c731b6c80f1ec8d2e1c61e96edc43f23)
so to get me over the winter months, i bought a run about, cost me £400 with 6 months MOT and tax, bargain, to say its a different drive is an understatement!!!
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fo233%2Fcraigyboy_01%2F608.jpg&hash=b40e0d026159d49d5b8a6048ed37fbd975d9d3c1)
1.6 8v, slower than a week in jail!! but in all fairness a clean car for nearly 16 years old, and only 81k, EW, ES, AC and pretty comfy

Ive taken the golf off the road for winter again this year, so i bought a wee 6n polo valver. So gave the wee polo a clean today and forgot my camera :slapped: , so excuse the crap pictures from my iphone. Just gave it a quick wash, then a spray with some duragloss spray detailer and dressed the tyres. Also gave the interior a good clean as its been sitting for a wee while. Its got FK coilovers, G60 brakes with green stuff pads, a de-badged FK grille and a few other wee bits and bobs, a great wee winter car.

There pretty good wee cars. The alloys are a standard upgrade I believe.

Cool little car that is Craig :happy2:
Looks to have reacted well to the detail.

To be honest, it needs correction detail to remove some deeper scratches and swirling. It had been sitting for around 4 years doing nowt. So when I got it it was absolutely hanging! While its was off the road it got a full re-build after a snapped belt. 4 brand new yokohamma a539's, brand new g60 calipers and green stuff pads and brake shoes on the back. And brand new fk coil overs, that's hadn't turned a wheel, aswell as a refurb on the alloys. A good wee buy that just needs some tlc. I might actually keep this as a second car. It goes pretty well for a 1.4 and handles like a go-kart :scared:

Craig they we're an optional upgrade. :happy2:
-
Great car there Craig! I love the 2 litre TSFI engine vw make. I used to have a purple s3 heavily modified by MTM and looking at this has made my day. Any plans for upgrading the fuel pump and have you thought about wrapping the induction pipe in heat sheiding tape. I'm fussy about heat soak
-
Ive got a autotech HPFP on at the moment. Going to hopefully get a few things done to the car this winter, Eibach sportlines for a start then fit the BSH catch can ive had sitting for a while and a few other wee bits. Tempted to buy a second set of Pescaras for a colour change, possibly black or a anthracite grey. Also considering changing the software to Revo from GIAC.

Well the golf is still off the road :rolleye: it's due it's mot and a service at the start of march so will be out for that.
Gave the wee winter runner a freshen up, in the way of a quick wash and spray with some blakfire detail gloss

Also got a few parts to go on the golf
Genuine open fogs
3" de-cat BCS downpipe to mate up with 3" blueflame
BSH catch can
Eibach sportlines
Pressed plates
Edition 30 badge for grille
Can't wait, also going revo stage 2+ :pomppomp:
-
Had some spare time tonight, so took the golf down to my unit to give it a clean and put on my new pressed plates and edition30 badge for the grille. Used the werkstat acrylic kit, can't beat this on white in my eyes. Pics aren't the greatest, but you get the idea.

It will be getting a proper detail before going back on the road properly, as the finish could be better. So will set aside a few days for that.
Next up will be to get the wheels painted a little darker and fit the sportlines.

candy white is one of the best colours for a ED30 imo! looks soo nice
just a cheeky question, what bulbs did you use for the numberplate lights? and did they throw up any errors?
-
Is the edition 30 badge just an eBay jobbie stuck on to the grill?

What did u use on your exhausts for cleaning?
#00 grade wire wool and race glaze metal polish, as I'd let them slip a little. Normally just the metal polish and a microfiber. Depends how bad yours are?

Now running with a BCS downpipe and revo stage 2+software, but what next?

Bilstein b8's and h&r spring kit

Ah nice ! My wheels are anthracite at the moment with all the salt and sh1t on the roads !
Fink I'm going black with my wheels ! It's a shame because my wheels have blemish free factory paint and it seems a waste to recon a perfect set of wheels, that's why it's not done already.
Piccys when there done mate !

And while the car is off the road I thought it was time to get the wheels painted, there was one small kerb mark on a front (from previous owner ) which has always annoyed and and the rears had a few stone chips. Apart from that they are mint and original.
So while the pescaras are off, got a shot of some Leon 17" wheels for it to sit on

Awesome colour on the wheels looks spot on against the Candy White, I too had some alloys on a previous car painted instead of powdercoated with excellent results! They where very durable to and never chipped in the 10 months I had them on the car, I dont know what paint code they where but the colour was Porsche Titanium Grey.
Fine looking ED30 you have!
Cheers Simon

For sale ?
Yes mate. To be fair the the tail pipes need replaced, I contacted bcs a d they said the would send me some out for £40. It sounded great with the decat and blue flame. Proper
-
I'd be keeping the sports cat to much hassle to keep changing the decat out for mots,
Ill have a wee think about it I might want something a bit louder,
How's the power valve for loudness ?

Awesome just driving about town normal and normal driving. But as soon as you floor it and it comes on boost it sounds wild. Just as loud as the blueflame with de-cat I'd say

You fitted the brakes... and NOW your want to powdercoat them?
Correct! Glad you understood my post. It was part of a deal I got the S3 brakes in return for my standard set up. So wasn't going to drive about with no front brakes as I needed the car, so when I get some time I'll get then stripped off and powder coated? That cool with you?
