Title: Rear Boot badge looking pretty poor
Post by: Norbreck21a on January 21, 2009, 01:13:14 pm: This may have been mentioned before, but when I was cleaning the car at the weekend, I noticed that the VW badge/handle on the boot lid, had the dreaded white worm starting from a number of points at the egdes.

Mines a 2005 motor so has the original type flat badge, whereas I believe the later ones had the VW part rasied. As I understand it, the older style (mine) are no longer available from VW and I have to use one of the new parts.

My questions are:
Is it true that it has to be purchased along with the main lock assembly at nearly Ã‚Â£80 !
I've heard a few people that have swapped them say that the new type doesn't sit flush with the tailgate and sticks out a little.

Can anyone comment or offer some advice please?

Can't offer any advice on the fit Im afraid but Im sure someone on here as already done this?

I've checked the part number in Etka and it says it's for the Passat not the Golf (part number 3C5 827 469 D) even though the seller claims it will fit a Golf.

Anyone know if it will fit ?
