Hi All
Just fitted four new Vred's to the Gti, am very happy with them but wondered what pressures I should be running...
Checked on the Vred web site and they appear to suggest 44 and 49 PSI for 225/45/R17s front / rear respectively...this sounds very high and wondered if anyone else is running these kind of pressures?
Thanks
Russ

I always ran mine at 2.4 bar (34 PSI), front and back.
-
49PSI... :surprised:
About 34/35 should be fine.
-
VW state 2.6 bar which is around 37psi.
-
40 PSI on those tyres chap. If they are the Ultrac Ssessanta Asyms.
Now running my 2nd set of these tyres and was told they MUST be set at that pressure to be more effective.
Im running 225, 40 18's.
Not sure if you have 17's fitted or not and whether the pressure changes.
Check with a Vredd's dealer for that imo

Thanks, thought into the 40's sounded a lot!! Car would be floating along
Yes, mine are Ultrac Sessanta's but 17inch...just had my wheels re-furbed and had the Vred's fitted at the same time by the refurbisher...need to check them but expect they're at the wrong pressures...

Do they not feel too firm mate?

Vred's always run at a higher pressure to be effective.
Something to do with tyre construction and rubber compound.

No, my rear tyres still have around 7-8mm and thats after running 15K miles or more with that rear set.
They havent worn unevenly either, and for the car thats still running on the factory geometry set up says to me, it runs fine set at its current pressures.
