Title: New BSH Group Buy Ideas Please
Post by: Dubtek on August 13, 2010, 10:14:05 pm
Hi All.

Justin @ BSH has asked us to roll out another BSH GB in the UK.........

First suggestion from me is the new integrated throttle pipe - http://www.bshspeedshop.com/store/fsitbpipe.html

A saving of over £20 on the kit before import duties are considered:

£95 delivered

 :happy2:

Quaife lsd?

Not sure buying a Quaife LSD from the BSH guys in the USA would be a good one, but I have a contact within Quaife (Mr Quaife himself ) so if there was enough interest I'd happily sort that one out seperately to the next BSH GB too.

So far then the throttle pipe seems the one, can we start a list with numbers, and fitments, ie Leon, Mk5, Mk6 etc, see if we can get to between 5-10 and I'll in the meantime start talking costs with BSH this week....?

Allows the air which has gone from the Turbo, thru the Turbo Outlet pipe, thru the Intercooler to flow through THAT pipe as unrestricted as possible into the throttle body  :happy2:

Is there a BSH Turbo Outlet Pipe too?  The Neuspeed one is quite expensive...

Im still after a intake heat sheild?

Might sound daft, but would a metal pipe positioned here not get more heat soak than the OEM plastic pipe and influence IAT? Its sitting between the engine and the rads, so i'd have thought a metal pipe would be a bad thing?

Im still looking at how to get my BSH CatchCan to fit as well as the heatshield for the cone from their Intake kit! Shame they havent designed this stuff to work on Non-US cars better.

It's also at the front of the engine so all the air coming through will help cool it. :happy2:

After the air has cooled the IC and the rad tho - just thinking out loud, no idea how much the air temp would increase passing thru them.

Post by: vRS Carl on August 17, 2010, 11:07:22 am
Probably not that much given the distance.

Don't forget the fans drag the cold air through to help cool the engine.

I used to have the Neuspeed version before I relocated the dv and there was no difference in IAT's from the logs from what I can remember.

I have sent out a few around the world that have been installed on the leon, and fitment has been confirmed.

this maybe a stupid question but wot does the pipe do  :signLOL:

This pipe by it's self is a flow mod. It will improve throttle response, and smooth out the acceleration. It also comes with two built in bungs to easily install water methanol injection, and an integrated noise pipe delete / Dv relocation port.

We have fitment for both the FSI and TSI!

We have not measured any change in IAT's with this mod.

I think maybe you should contact me directly. There is no reason you should have any trouble installing the intake.

My E-Mail is: justin@bshspeedshop.com

any pics that you can provide would also be helpful.

would it not be better to list BSH products and have a poll , that may give a better indication?

Yeah thats the one, over the exhaust maifold at the rear of the engine.

There isn't much room to do a group buy on a $30 part, but Dub Tek usually takes them 3 to 5 at a time and I am sure he will have them in his next stocking order.

I received your E-Mail and I am working on a plan of action to get you squared away.

expect a reply in he next day or so...

as of right now I have authorization to do a group buy on the throttle body pipe kits and the Snow performance water/methanol. I might be able to work something up on the rear sway bar, and we are just getting ready release the MKV TSI and MKVI TSI Torque mount & pendulum mount!

the truth of the matter is that it is not the discounting of the product it's self that makes these sales work so well, it is the savings on the shipping so if you all get together and just order a bunch whatever it is that you need you will all save.

Any possibility of a group buy on the rear drop links? I take it that they can be used in conjunction with other rear ARB's such as H&R, White-line as appose to solely BSH ARB's?

Luke.

Not at this stage snapey no sorry. TBH there isnt enough margin in them to discount them much more, they are very cheap already for what they are.

This GB is definately going to be for the throttle pipe now, so lets try and get to 10 and I can get the best prices out of BSH as soon as we hit that figure...

We've also been offered a further GB discount on the snow performance water/methanol injection kits to go with these pipes if we reach 10 too....

is there any data logging before and after anywhere with this?
Title: Re: New BSH Group Buy Ideas Please

Is this as easy fit I know there may only be a couple of fittings but are they easy to get to i.e. from top of engine. The reason I ask for a mod of this sort of price I'd want to be able to take it off easily myself to sell before the car goes.

Also I'd suppose this would work best with an uprated intercooler???

I do have some somewhere from when i had a neuspeed version of this attached. I have since taken it off due to relocating the DV but from memory i never noticed anything different. All this pipe will do is improve the flow, which in turn *might* give you a couple of extra bhp/lbft. So although it's not really a power mod it helps keep everything running efficiently.

Is this as easy fit I know there may only be a couple of fittings but are they easy to get to i.e. from top of engine. The reason I ask for a mod of this sort of price I'd want to be able to take it off easily myself to sell before the car goes.

They are easy to fit but not from the top of the engine. You need to have the car on axle stands & remove the undertray. Start to finish it should take no more than 90 mins. It took me about 45 mins to do the neuspeed one.

Once i get mine i will do a tutorial with pics to show how easy it is to fit.

It's not necessary to have the uprated IC but every little bit helps.

We are back up and running now!  I sent over the pricing earlier today. I will be monitoring my E-Mail over the weekend if you want to finish this thing up so we get everyone there new toys.

On a second note I would also like to see what kind of interest there is in water/Methanol injection Kits. This Throttle body kit is a perfect platform to easily mounting a W/M Kit and we are able to offer some great prices on the Snow Performance units.

If you guts are interested in doing this next or along side this GB let Ben know.
