Title: Interesting day on the rollers
Post by: big_pete on August 13, 2010, 11:16:37 pm
Had a testing day today on the rollers with my mk4 1.8t
Ran the car as standard and then did power runs with jetex intake, K & N intake and then Jetex cat back system
Running 176bhp standard airbox and exhaust
jetex intake gave 6 bhp more and smooth torque curve
K& N intake gave 4 bhp and not so smooth
Jetex exhaust , cat back gave very little bhp rise but torque increased at higher revs
Tried a remap with jetex exhaust and intake looking for 200 bhp plus boosting at 1.2 bar
but we car wouldnt boost, so went back to standard map , and then it wouldnt start ! a bit confused
As we found, the car had previously been superchipped and there map had stopped all changes, so that was a lesson.
we will get round this , and I look forward to 200 + bhp next week
I will post some pics up later

This is always a problem when using remapping tools that only write the data area and not the entire flash memory. Does the tool ask you if you want to complete a full or partial read/write? if so choose full and you shouldnt have any problems  :happy2:
