As the title says, according to log bok previous owner and some service history from Ilminster Somerset.
-
.
Hmm.. Ilminster reasonably local to me, stokeballoon, and gillm, but I can't say I know it.
Have you got pics?
-
yeah its the car in my signature, also if you search my posts ive posted some pics
-
Where was serviced?
Irvines, Ilminster or Silver Street, Taunton.... :happy2:
-
Silver street, i did ring them to confirm the history which was correct, but im trying to contact previous owner, i had a phone number but owner no longer lives there, i brought the car from a Garage in hounslow London.
-
Blimey that went a long way from home then...where was it first registered?

Hounslow? Which Garage? If you are near Hounslow you want to get down to Ace next Tues for VAG night
-
Can't say I have seen it. Silver street are a fairly decent garage. I nearly a Scirocco Scala from there about 15 years ago.
Are you having snags with the car?
-
OK might be wrong,(probably am) but is,nt YX the prefix for cars registered in Yorkshire?. I,m YT my MK4 was YR..maybe relevant to the history Q.

Front cover to service book was missing, one of the reasons i would like to find out about the car,
a few little problems when i got the car but all sorted now,
and no im not local to Hounslow otherwise i would have gone to meet.
Also i thought YX was london?
-
Yup..Said I,d be wrong. :ashamed:
-
According to this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_the_United_Kingdom
YX is Beverley in Yorkshire.

^^^^
So according to Wicky my 'VW05 RED' was registered in Severn Valley / Worcester.. Not so, but it's of no importance - It's a useful guide, Stu :drinking:
-
But did you get lucky and have that plate from the outset or did you buy it separately? That would explain things.
For instance I could have bought BE60 STU, it would have still been fitted to my car in Newbury but it obviously isn't a Newbury plate.
On that note I think you'll have a chuckle at the reg number of mine Robin

That's because it's a private plate  V* is my local plate (Worcester) but I've yet to see any VW plates around that aren't private plates.

.... You gonna keep the plate 'til you're 60, Stu?
I got lucky and got my plate from the outset.
Only a few days for you now! Your spec S3 Sportback is the only one I'd consider... Very nice! Wanna see pics in due course. :happy2:
