Right.....I've just had the fortune of gaining around £400-500 through this that and the other...
What should I spend it on??? Couple of points to note:
1) Coilovers and WALK are being fitted in beginning of March - so don't need those.
2) I want something functional, that I will see/feel the difference. Basically this rules out exterior modifications such as OSIR carbon stuff!
3) A new short-shift will be coming in due-course, once Forge launch the revised version for 08MY cars.
4) The vinyl will be put back on within two weeks also.
5) I don't need an intake, TBE, remap, Forge DV...
I've got a couple of ideas of my own...
1) Full engine mounts
2) Wheel refurb (either black with a red lip, or kept silver with the spoke inserts done black and a red lip)
3) ARBS
I look forward to hearing your ideas!
Chris.

Evoms if you dont already have some form of induction kit.

Got a Carbonio on at the moment.
If I fit an EVOMS, then I will start getting into fuel pump issues.
I probably should have posted my spec so that people dont suggest mods that I already have!

WHEELS :driver:

Its a tough one Chris because you already have most mods known for the Mk 5 platform.
I would say those porsche reps that you drool over regularly.
A free weekend in Paris if anyone can find a mod that he doesn't already have. :fighting2:
-
^^ Haha! How did I know you'd say that Nath!!
Believe me, I'm very tempted. Yours looked absolutely stunning yesterday. And for the record, in my opinion yours was the best of the GTI's there, it just looked fantastic.

Don't want reps, and the real ones are too much dollar
:chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: (sorry, I just love all these smileys!)

how about an uprated fuel pump then?? Also is the gti pump the same as the ed30/s3/cupra?

Thanks for that Chris :happy2:
Just wish you hadn't of had your vinyl issues as I was looking forward to seeing it
I really think the black inserts on your Monza's will look the shizzle! :jumping:

I'd only consider the APR version, and that is around £700. Although I could go for the exchange-based deal which would work out at around £500, but then I'd have to pay fitting etc.
Something to consider as well I guess though.

....
Put aside what £££ you've got and add some more to it as and when you are able. Then get a Quaife!
How long do you plan to keep your GTI? [You've doubtless told me but I've forgotten].
-

VC - you will have a PM shortly. :happy2:

Can anyone tell me what benefit I will see from ARBS??
Also the views of those who have had them fitted, possibly in isolation so that I can understand their exact contribution towards handling?

Recon DSG gearbox
-
APR Pump I think Chris.
-
I agree with ARB's
I had them fitted in isolation and they really did make a difference. :happy2:
-
Full set of vf or vwr engine mounts, will make the most of the coil's you are fitting as will help to reduce roll as less engine movement meaning better handling and of course reduce wheel hop! Which allows you to floor it better out of corners.
For £400 or so plus fitting, it really is up there with making the most significant improvements to the car, up there with chip and coil's.

how in depth do you want me to go mate?
in a nutshell, you rip out the factory noodle width bars, fit fatter ones. result is loss of body roll and stiffer chassis allowing faster, more stable and flat cornering.
my mate was a non believer until he finally fitted them to his mk4 r32 as well and he was massively impressed with the difference as was i. mine will hopefully get ordered in the next couple of weeks.
too thin and your cornering and roll is noticable but a compromise for comfort. too fat a bar and either you get understeer or oversteer so its about balance. ive always had the back fatter than the front at around 25 with the front being around 22 but depend on how you want it to handle. but summary is, stiff flat cornering
