Hi all I'm getting my monza's Refurbed next week and want to get them the same as the Detroit/ huffs. I have looked at pics of them and I'm sure they are satin black all over and diamond cut lip, but some pictures I've seen look as if the inserts are different colour.... :confused:B hope I can get some help :happy2:

nope there satin black all round with a diamond cut lip :happy2:

Thanks Gti mad :happy2:

the detroits are conpletelt black. think they have a polished lip.
-
The Detroits are actually matte black rather than satin. They take a bit of buffing to get any sort of shine on them.
-
Can anyone tell me exactly how the polished lip is achieved? I have just powder coated my Pescara's in Satin black, and rather than paint a pin stripe I would rather have the Detroit/Huff rim look :happy2: ......if it is possible?

Same as a lot of VW wheels, the outer rim is turned on a lathe after painting to achieve the polished look, then the whole wheel is lacquered.
The other option with Pescaras (which don't have the flat rim like Monzas and other polished rim VW wheels) would be to source the shiny trims BBS use on their black CHs. The may have to be slightly modified to fit (not much I reckon) but at least won't end up with whiteworm.
