Title: DUMP VALVE
Post by: scooba on September 24, 2010, 06:22:02 am
Hi I keep reading about failed dump valves and replacing with the newer version. I dont think mine has failed but as its in the dealers for a new mechatronics unit is it worth changing it ?? The car has done 12k miles and is May 08.

Do you think they would do it under warranty the only reason i ask is there tech was mega helpful with the dsg box. Or could mine have the latest dv anyway ??? .

Thanks Scooba

It's only about £45 mate, try it on, I doubt they'll do it under warranty, but if they do it free fitting then it's worth it, just one more piece of mind thing out of the way :)

It's a diverter valve, not a dump valve.   T_T posted a long thread explaining what diverter valves do, opposed to 'dump valves'...

It's a cheapish, easy fix that is worth while doing.  :happy2:
