Hi which fuel are you guys using?
Which is better interms of preformance?
-
bp = 97 ron
vpower = 99 ron
the higher the ron the more peformance - simples :happy2:
-
what we at with the price off v power 1.32?
-
Tesco Momentum is slightly better than V power I thought, after reading that thread on here which compared the two? Even or though really but avoid BP Ultimate I say..
-
i remember 5th gear doin a review on petrol between normal petrol V-power and bp ultimate
it was over 3 cars, 1.2 clio, mk5 golf gti and a subaru impreza
none gave any performance difference for the 1.2 clio
about 5/6bhp for v-power and 3/4bhp for bp ultimate for the golf gti
and about 10/15 bhp for the v-power, i cant properly remember but it was the higher the performacnce of the car the better the gains from the pertol
v-power beat BP on every occasion
-
I use Vpower in mine its like rocket fuel! :happy2:
Ash
-
V-Power for me too!! :happy2:

Im only using v power in my car. Ive used v power and BP Ultimate in my Ducati and the bike definitely runs smoother and more responsive with v power.
When i done some alpine driving last july in Germany they had V power racing = 100 ron. Only used it once as i werent in Germany that long and i doubt the ecu got a chance to adapt to it. Im expecting that to make it to the uk at some point.
-
V Power for me too :happy2:
-
I ended up paying 135.9 for v power the other day it was still cheaper than Diesel at 138.9 I know you would get more miles out of your diesel car but not quite the same fun!
-
do they only have that BP 102 stuff by race circuits?
-
V Power in mine. :happy2:

I wouldn't buy that petrol unless you know for certain that it was delivered <4 week previously. The octane goes down over time so if it's 6 months old it may be less than 99RON. :scared:
-
Tesco Momentum (99) gets my vote aswell.

have used this a few times recently when we've been shopping and it dont seem too bad.... though usually V power is all that sees the inside of the tank... :happy2:
-
Ive started using v power noticed big difference in performance!!!! just doesant seem to last as long maybe because enjoying it little too much :jumping:
-
i used v power last tank 60£ 225 miles great performance
this tank tesco 95 ron 60£ not finnished yet but should get 300 miles
but i think its way down on performance so v power from now on when i fill up
i thought it was a myth about different fuels but i deffo notice performance in car
-
Momentum 99 or V-power are the only fuels ive used in my past two cars (S3 and ED30) apart from two occasions when i needed fuel and could only get as far as a BP so £5 of BP Ultimate and then fill it up at a Shell :happy2:
Cal
-
Momentum for me - simply because there's a Tesco where I live.
£67 to fill up usually lasts 300 miles or thereabouts.

good shout cheers bud

I normally use v-power but if the shell near me has run out i use tesco 99 momentum and doesnt seem to make any difference........
-
always run vpower
-
Never noticed any difference between V-power and Momentum 99 tbh.

same here, but i mostly use tesco as its close by and when the offers on for 5p off a litre you cant beat it
-
In the 15 months I've had mine I've had to put ordinary UL in on a couple of occasions. Felt like I was driving with the handbrake on!!
Back to V Power and the car takes off like it has a jet engine!!
-
.
Forget saving pennies, V-Power apparently has extra substances which are healthy for your engine wear.
If you need to save money, and I do understand that sometimes we all do, don't save it at the expense of your beloved chariot. Would you feed your horse crap food? Save money elsewhere in your lifestyle.
-
thing is half of these fuels probably come from the same refineries, have a few additives thrown in for good measure. In all honesty i dont think i ever noticed a different between normal Vpower, tesco 99 and BP ultimate. I used to use the Vpower racing100 in germany. now that stuff was good
-
The GTI isn't known for its fuel efficiency and if you want high MPG figures, look at diesels. Otherwise, as RR says, cut back on other things. Like Haribo :sad1:
Would love to try that V racing stuff.
-
I don't see where the cost saving is here? They are all the same price round me ...
-
only ever use v power in all my cars, defiantly makes a difference in the mk5 gti. and especially in my mk2 gti no engine plinking with v power, just make sure you use a busy shell garage as petrol does go off over time
-
i use either Vpower or tescos, don't go elsewhere unless it's an emergency.
-
I have no idea why people buy BP Ultimate based on price alone, but given that its 2 octane points lower, it makes that choice even more puzzling. And you dont get V Power points at BP either :signLOL:
V Power in mine every single time.
