Hi guys
So a week into having my MK5 GTI and the engine light is intermittently coming on - flashing and then when I ease off the peddle it goes out. During this period the car seems to stutter, If i put my foot down it stutters.
I previously had a similar issue in my MK4 1.4 and replaced that coil pack and lambda sensors - this fixed the job until my cat went and screwed things up, but that dont matter right now.
Just wondering if anyone one here has had the same issue?
Got a warranty so heading into VW tomorrow night for a fix on Monday.

Flashing eml is coilpack(s) 99% of the time.

New fuel Injector for cylinder 1... £500... ouch!
Glad im not paying for it!
-
bet thats whats up with mine!
-
£500 for a fuel injector?? :surprised:
They are £125 each which means they are charging you £375 to fit :surprised:. I know it's quite a tricky job but i'd tell them to poke it and get a quote elsewhere.
Part no. for a GTi (BWA or AXX engine) injector is 06F 906 036 A - £124.67 inc VAT.

haha, yeah I know I thought that was a lot! Buts its a VW dealer so I expect them to charge a lot.
I also dont care as the garage I purchased the car from is having to pay for it! :happy2:
Any idea how to spot this before it happens? Bit worried for the rest as the car has only covered 37000

UPDATE
Got the car back tonight and seems they have fixed the problem. However, its sounding pretty rough on startup - more like a diesel to be honest. Any ideas?
