Title: Mk5/mk6 front mats

Can anyone tell me if these are exactly the same?

There's a few on eBay that are genuine VW products and the auction states they're suitable for both and the Scirocco, but without looking at the footwells I find it hard to believe.

Anyone know?

The footwell shape is the same but the mounting clips on the drivers side mat are a different shape on early mk5s not sure about the later mk5s if there the same as the 6s or not.

The early Mk5s had the 'twist', from 2007 onwards it was the 'click' style fitting.

Heres a photo of my mk6 front matt. Not really the best picture but as you can see it has the round click in fasteners. IIRC on the packing it did say MK5 & 6.

I put my MK5 mats in my Scirocco  :happy2:, clips can be swapped over if needed

.............look the same as my mk5 winter- rubber ones. And a bit of a bonus yesterday, took the ''edition 30'' rear carpet mats out to sweep them & found a pair of normal gti grey carpet mats under the edition 30 ones  :laugh:

I ended up buying a non genuine carpet set for my GTi and a genuine rubber set for my wifes Mk6 from the local dealer yesterday. The carpet ones were £25 for the set.
