How much and where did you get them?

You'll have trouble with LED's as the indicators are on the CANbus.

You'll need to fit or find some with built in resistors  :happy2:

Just a suggestion, how about getting the front grille 'mask' wrapped/painted matt black?

Think It'll look good with the black lights.

Going to have an attempt to paint the interior trim strips and sterring wheel inserts reflex silver today to match the car. Do they just pull off or held on by sumthing?

They are held in by little clips, easy to get off. Have you got any plastic trim removal tools? If not try a screw driver with a duster to protect the trim / door cards. Start off at one end and go to the other as one end on most of them is hooked in place!

No i dont have a removal tool but i will find sumthing small and flat to use. Yer i was thinking about wrapping somthing around it to protect it. Il have a go and hope i dont snap them or the clips. :scared:

I got them off flebay and they just stuck on. The best way is to take the badge out and carbon wrap it.

Yer i didnt think the RNS was going to be that good but its a defo winner.

I took it for a drive when it got dark and found the rear lights stayed on when i drove but my front ones went out like normal. which oviously lite up the back of the car, Can this be correct in VAG or some computer plug in thing? :ashamed: or have i messed up the wiring lol

Hello mate.

I have a rear view camera with SMD white bulbs in the right side holder, now my number plate looks exactly like your picture here!

Anyhoo, if it's ok, can you let me know the exact bulb you put in and does it have a built in resistor? I bought a supposed CAN-BUS festoon for the left side only for it to trigger the error.

Danishmk5gti - help yourself mate its entertaining watching people reactions in the rear view mirror

SKARD - They have a built in load resistor and they didnt make any errors appear on my dash so they should work fine  :happy2:

I brought them off the bay -

the US grill really suits the front of the car, ties in with the lights nicely!

Looking good with the mods, only one im not sure on is the blue calipers! but they certainly are different from the red!

lovely motor!

Bulbs came this morning, put it in and no bulb out error..yet!  :happy2:

What's even better is the camera has four small SMD's which cover about the same surface area as the SMD's on the festoon, so light output seems fairly even on both sides too.

There would be alot more mods if money grow on trees but sadly it doesnt  :sad1:
I can see that blue is not everyones liking for calipers but didnt want to go red as gti's have them and i like the colour blue and silver together so blue it was for me lol.

Think its about time i update my thread  :surprised:

I have done/doing a few changes to the car.

I now have fitted a highline. Love that the sat nav comes up on the screen. Just need to get an MFSW which will give me the full use of it with the RNS-510 as well. But funds have been else where.
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1191.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz463%2Fbanaham49%2FGolf%2FIMG_0043.jpg&hash=5ff63c78ff080acf5a6aea39e2fa3dbb8555f0a8)

I also have RNS-510 and a mdi kit for the glove box, The sound is distorted on some songs but maybe it is my ipod nano 6th or iphone 4s that it doesnt like? But the wiring is correct (thanks to Martin) for checking it for me. Also did a few things on VDCS for me.
The car locks when i drive over 10 mph
Car beeps when i lock it because i was always thinking it was never locked. :ashamed:

I have recently brought some BBS VZ which look amazing. Always wanted these or CH but the prices of CH are crazy. Waiting for the warmer weather before i put them on. Hopefully the tyres i have already will fit on these.
Gave them a quick clean today and then went into storage

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1191.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz463%2Fbanaham49%2FGolf%2FIMG_0254.jpg&hash=d2e09d4353f27d2bbfd088a9fc4a2ae239c9995f)

I also had a service a few weeks back and was told i have a few thousand miles left on some pads and discs so i thought it was a good time to upgrade my brakes. I purchased an R32 set up front and back which i want to get refurbished to bring the colour back and make them clean. Just waiting for next month so i can buy the discs and pads. I was thinking drilled or J hooked discs. Going to drop the car on some springs when i get the brakes fitted. I was thinking Eibach Pro 30mm or maybe go for some H&R but nto to sure yet. Dont want to go to low and also want a decent ride.

Just a little sticker for the back window which i put on the inside so it doesnt get damaged by the frost and me with a scraper
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1191.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz463%2Fbanaham49%2FGolf%2FIMG_0056.jpg&hash=611c5ed8a6bc0433c6c1716412c63f747dbfa0bc)

Another update, After having all these parts i finally got around to getting them on the car
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1191.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz463%2Fbanaham49%2FGolf%2FIMG_0384.jpg&hash=f496fccd1e20e6267d870175ae773ecd3bc27bf0)

First thing was R32 brakes. The front went on no problem and then i found that i need rear hubs for the rears to fit. So they are on order and hoping to be getting them on soon. But the fronts are so powerful compared to what the car orginally used to have. Feels like im hitting a wall everytime i brake!

I did the refurb myself

Got the car on Eibach pro springs 30mm and changed the front to gti one. But didnt realize the Gti emblem was a different size  :fighting: so ive ordered a black one.
