Title: My Mk 5 R32 Tornado Red
Post by: stu_no_1 on February 22, 2011, 08:04:22 pm: Here is my r32 in tornado red on 06 plate 33000miles with DSG, Recaros, Lux Pack, Parking sensors, Mfsw, Highline Display, 10 Speaker system, Armrest, Xenons, Factory Privacy Glass. If i remember any more of the spec ill put it here.

Second mod i did was R Pad Retaining clips

Next mod was a Miltek Resonated Cat Back Exhaust picked it up on gumtree for £150 lucky if the thing has done 2000 miles :D

not sure on the black grill i reckon it would just get stone chipped and look rubbish after i while but if someone can send me a pic of a red one with a black grill i may be convinced otherwise

The Arnold clark number plates will be staying till I get a private plate no point changing them just now the tax disc holder is still an Arnold Clark one and so are the floor mats so these are all due to be replaced soon enough lol

I had mine fitted this weekend along with stage 2 revo and it's made a nice difference both to performance and noise

What else are you running with the stage 2 Revo? what do you think of it? I am hoping for a blueflame to be delivered some time soon and hopefully after that get myself sorted with a stage 2 revo too!

Then i was on the look out for some wheels nearly bought a set of pescaras from a gti edition 30 but then i saw a set of BBS Rc's in 5x112 fitment in a bit rough condition

I bought some brand new centre caps for them as 1 was missing and 2 of the 3 were not fit to refurb lol

I then tried them on my car to find i had major rubbing as they are et 32 and 8.5j i thought 225 tyres would have been enough stretch to give me clearance obviously not.
So i got 5mm machined off the front wheels as this was the main area that rubbed and i bought some 215 40 18 toyo proxes t1 sport.
Then it was off to mike the polisher in glasgow, I originally wanted them polished but then decided to go for a chrome powdercoat to replicate the original ball burnished finish.

In the photos they look more like silver but in real life there is more depth

Future plans are full respray to get paint perfect and to smooth roof aerial , full retrim in half leather half alcantara with red stitching on the side bolsters, US spec rear bumper for the shortened plate recess and maybe coilovers

I took them to him in person as he is only 45 mins away from where I stay, top guy mike get good banter with him too lol

All the repairs are almost done then the car will get flattened out and windows out before paint, aiming for middle of next week

I'm getting the front arches rolled for piece of mind that I won't rub with the low offset and being lowered on coilovers now, the doors had a few dings , the rear quarters had rubbed through the paint from when I first fitted the wheels with 235 tyres (never again lol) the roof I wanted the aerial smoothed off the rear bumper is getting replaced with a us spec one and it would be a bit silly to not spray the boot hatch when all the rest is getting done

I just need to get the door cards and arm rest retrimmed to match as the guy never had leather door cards, but overall I'm pretty happy with the seats :-D

chrome paint was going for the original finish so not a bright chrome but more a smoke chrome it turned out not bad i think thanks to touch ups for getting it done for me in time especially with the replacement slat arriving at them 12 oclock on friday

Got some Custom centre nuts made from a single piece of billet rather than the crappy bbs plastic threads that are all damaged. Thanks to Chris Keeton at b1ncc autostyle

The inner barrels were then powdercoated oem silver by Mikey at fife powdercoating, another top guy dont have any pictures but will get some when i get them all finished

i dropped the wheels off to mike the polisher to work his magic on hes already started work on them and sent me a couple teaser shots

The aftermarket gold bolts are going in the bin to be replaced by the original Bbs bolts gold plated. Small things like this really satisfy my OCD lol

Ceramic polishing. Those "beads" are in a tank which agitates them. Out comes a polished wheel! :happy2:

Mike the polisher is supposed to be the best for this stuff. :smiley:
