-
Yes def,for the sake of around £30 you may aswell.
-
More than 30. It's 99.

It should not be, the last time I checked they were about £35.00 they are done on a replacement basis for your current pump. IIRC the price you have put is what you would pay of the old pump is not recycled.

299 for cambelt + Fitting
95 for waterpump + fitting
Quote "The total price for the cambelt and waterpump replacement is a total of £395, including parts labour and VAT. "
-
Thats VWs extortionate retail prices for you
TPS cost of that (on exchange) is about 45
-
Sounds like a p!ss take to me
I was told only certain type of water pumps require replacing at a certain age or mileage.
Something like ones Plastic impeller and the other earlier type wasn't?
-
Aye plastic impeller ones. They have now been changed to steel impellers to resolve the issue with the blades braking off and going into the block lol!
The main reason for changing them now is the bearings and the seals as they break down over time.
-
My cam belt was replaced nearly 2 years ago.
What's the manufactures stated life or maintenance shedule for the water pump?
-
Its not on the maintenance schedule as such more so a "change it when it needs to be done if it breaks" item
Easily 5 years if not alot longer! :signLOL:
-
well mines 4!
think ill just get it done for the extra... :sad1:

-

-

A bit of sweettalk works wonders at the stealers :happy2:
-

-
even more ground for discount :signLOL:
-
Liver- what dealer did your cambelt change?
-
If you want to save yourself even more money just change it yourself. The total cost to me was £179 for the OE cambelt kit and waterpump from TPS plus 6 hours fitting time on the drive way. Really easy to do aswell, it is just time consuming with taking bits off but nothing too difficult
-
I had both the Cambelt and Waterpump changed at the same time on the 4yr servicing @ 34k miles
Including the brake fluid change, split CV boot cx + mot, aswell as the full service. Was a busy day in the garage!
-
Picked my car up last week from the dealers after some work, in the paperwork a quote of £537.76 for cambelt change!! :surprised: This seems a bit much and also doesn't say if thats water pump included.
-
Having Cambelt & W/Pump done at 55k first few days in Aug :happy2:
Kit £134 from SERE
Labour £100
W/Pump £40
