keep seeing videos on youtube and hearing things about launch control on a dsg? any able to explain how this works? or how i get it to work on my dsg?
-
start the car, turn the esp off, put into M or S mode, foot on brake pedal then rev the car to around 2.5-3k rpm then release the brake pedal and off you go...
-
thanks iv always wandered that but never had anyone to ask
-
You should be able to bury the throttle and it won't rev to max. If it does rev high then you know you've not quiet got it right.

Yes it definitely works on a GTI
-
If your car does not accelerate to 3200rpm them you know your car doesnt have it.As far as im aware most GTI's do but a few out there dont.
-
Mine has it! Loads of fun
-
Make sure the engine has warmed up otherwise it won't work
-
yup just tried it and it works :) iv heard that it ruins ur clutch tho? is this true?
-
if you have your car re-mapped..then launch controls kinda sh*t...my wheels just spun up alot
-
yeah mines is remapped, maybe thats why it just spun, quite hard not to spin when trying to take off quickly with the dsg iv found
-
You need a warm day and R1R's to get the best from launch control with a remap on an ED30
-
My 2007 gti does not have it :( ,it's only a flash to the cars brain, but western won't do it as it will invalidate warranty on my dsg gear box ?

whats the difference between a normal remap and a dsg remap? is a dsg remap basically changin the gear shifting?
-
A dsg remap alters the software code in the dsg mechatronics unit whilst a "normal remap" codes to the ecu.
-
Thanks :) western r opening a gti centre soon, they will be doing remaps for GTi's and R's,and warranty will be fine i was going to wait and see what they offer ?
-
Both REVO and GIAC can do DSG remaps - I preferred the REVO one. :happy2:

Unless you like traffic light GPs and like lining the pockets of Mr Michelin and Goodyear, then it a pretty much pointless function.
