As a follow up to this thread.
Popped in to see how the repair is getting on and got one hell of a shock.
Firstly the car is still in prep stage as there is more work than first thought needs doing :scared: :scared:
Turns out the cars been repaired before. Strange as I bought it brand spanking new with 10 miles on the clock. NOT A HAPPY BUNNY

I'd tell them to stop the work, take photos and be one the phone instantly to Dealer Manager. I'd be demanding a new car if the brand spanker was not in fact brand spanking.....

ALOT of cars goes to body shop prior to selling due to damage in transit... My dad used to be in the bodyshop at Dees of Croydon(ford) and fixed plenty... back in the day though...

Repaired after transit damage is exactly what the painter said.  Not serious damage, just paintwork.

I've seen a Vw van that literally fell off the production line onto it's side, the owner went for a respray and some rust issues and the whole vehicle ended up being rejigged as it wasn't square!

It happens

I've heard of cases like this where brand new cars have been repairs by Vw and several months/ years down the line Vw refuse warranty claims on paint because "it's not original". Get a letter stating what's done and a guarantee that paint warranty is not affected. If they refuse demand a new car.

Also in plant at OEM's , they do paint corrections before shipping to the dealers.  You would be very surprised what goes on  and how it gets covered over .  the receiving dealer will  notknow any of this , unless they inspect closely
