Hi All,

Just joined the forums and thought i would say hi.

Bought a golf gti MK5 about 5 months ago, came from a 335d BMW and am glad i made the change. So much more fun.

Have also done a few mods but will post some pics and details up in readers rides.

Why did you change from the 335d?, they have an awesome engine in them  :surprised:

HI,

Purely because i found it a bit boring, it was an m-sport touring which didn't help. My partners boss kept asking if her Dad was picking her up! Lovely car and very very quick but just didn't do it for me i guess.

I actually bought the golf as an in between car as got fed up with using one my vans all the time. And it has stayed, although keep looking at the new S3 Sportbacks....

Interesting opinion that you have! I've driven that engine in every 3 Series body variant, and I'd have a 335d any day of the week over a GTI. Ok, maybe not the Touring (for the looks), but I've found that every M Sport variant of the 3 Series that has that engine completely outperforms the GTI in every way! But different people prefer different things with cars  :smiley: :smiley:

Glad your pleased with the GTI, I look forward to seeing pictures and hearing about your mods!
