NOTICED THE AUDI TTS IN BACK OF EVO MAG, 268BHP 2.0 TSI.
GUESS ITS THE SAME ENGINE?
ALSO NOTICED ITS SLIGHTLY MORE WEIGHT THAN ED30 BUT WITH A 0-60 TIME OF 5.3.
DIDNT THINK IT WAS 4WD THOUGH?
WHAT ON EARTH SORT OF PERFORMANCE WOULD YOU EXPECT FROM A 300BHP ED30!!
-
yes 4mo in the tts so a map would sort it out :driver:

Come back to the Turbo side young skywalker....
-
The TTS has a KO4'd 2.0 litre engine like the Edition 30.
The engines aren't exactly the same though.
Tuning-wise you'll see the same outputs achievable from both.
-
Love the sound of my car sooo no chance of going back young beddie lol

They are fella i have seen them in bits and they are the same as all the part numbers are the same for both engines

I thought that the TTS now had a TSI engine and not a TFSI engine?

the tts engine is the same as the facelift s3, so its identical except for the intercooler being bigger in the tts.

I thought that the TTS had a chain instead of the cambelt?

thats better, kicked the cat.
He'll get his own back.
Sneak into the back when you are cleaning it and sharpen his claws on the tartan.
Then you will be cross.

the tsi has a cam chain and a different fuel pump arrangement among other changes
-
TT-S has same engine as S3 and ED30 yeah..
Its not the new TSI engine, but the intake looks similiar to that, I think thats where the confusion started from..
I know that some TT-S have had the same ECU code as S3's and ED30's..
-
I wonder if you can get 2 versions then?
2008 spec TFSI and 2009 spec TSI?
-
My brother has a new TTS, which I took for a spin today.
Nice bit of kit & a fantastic sound, shame about the DSG.........let the rumpus begin :P

Yeah I agree.. 60ms shift times and no lag between gears really sucks

From VWVortex they say the gearchanges look like manual swaps on a racecar as you watch the driver from trackside :jumping:
-
I put up a post in the technical section about the differences between the TFSI and TSI - what are they?
-
One of the main differences is the cambelt. On the TFSI it is belt driven and on the TSI it is chain driven and so wouldn't need replacing on a service regime.
