Title: MK6 Steering Wheel - Ring Jibba Jabba!

Guy looking at this MK6 steering wheel on eBay as I think I'm going to go down the MFSW route and really like the red stitching. Can someone please help me out though.

1) Will I need a MK6 Airbag?
2) People talk about needing an O ring of a C Slip Ring or something? These confuse me and people like to another website with what to me just looks like a series of numbers and letters! I have an 05 plate GTi if this helps?
3) So airbag, new ring and this is all i need bar coding?
4) Are there black MFSW surrounds available instead of silver?


Cheers chaps, sorry for shed loads of questions lately, inputting it in my "wanted" spreadsheet with as much detail as possible so when I get to it I can just look at that and see what I need exactly :D

I just purchased a MK6 wheel of eBay with multifunction buttons and red stitching, I was going to fit it but have decided against it, if your interested in purchasing send me a pm.

As far as I'm aware you will need a MK6 air bag, slip ring and also a control module.

Hmmm sounds expensive :( Just adding it to my list at the moment but wanted as much info as possbile.

PM me a price though mate ;)

What control module and stuff? Easy hard to change?

If you go for that wheel ^^ you'll need

MK6 Airbag
CH Steering Controller
C Revision slip ring (might already have this fitted)
MK6 MFSW Airbag Loom

And it will all need coding with VCDS.

Argh, every time I see these I want one for my Golf. But the quality of the leather isn't as good as on mine and I don't want to get a new wheel retrimmed, so I've been holding off...
