Title: Upgrade from 17 to 18 inch

Noddy question but. If i upgrade my alloys does this affect the overall wheel diameter and therefore the speedo, tacho and mpg?

Not really. If you get the right profile tyres, the rolling radius should be (largely) unchanged.

Use clicky1 (http://www.kouki.co.uk/utilities/visual-tyre-size-calculator) or clicky2 (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html) to calculate the difference in rolling radius.
