Dubtek on here sell them.
I have the BSH catch can kit. Get quite alot of gunk over the miles. I would sell my BSH catch can Kit to you but would need a replacement Pcv to fit 1st. I want the more basic PCV fix without the catch can as I prefer the fit & forget aspect

Id prefer a fix n forget too really.
My OEM PCV works fine but there is oil slightly leaking out where the ribbed hoses connect to the PCV, is this norm?
As for the oil, should it be getting down that hose towards the intake manifold? Surely fitting a non return valve into this hose will just collect oil then blast larger amounts into the intake manifold in one go rather than in small amounts?

With the revamp kit, the the pvc mechanism as well as the ribbed tubing from the pcv to the intake manifold is eliminated. You get a metal cap to block off the intake manifold port where the tubing inserted and a channeled metal plate to cover where the pcv was removed.
It's really quite a neat upgrade.

Just bought one from Ben on here at DUBTEK.
I nearly bought a catch can but just know I would forget to empty it and is it a stage too far?
I will let you know if its any good.

You mean normally with a PCV?
I think it just gets atomised and burnt with the fuel?

Not sure but it might cause a problem on heavy modded cars that would be why race cars have catch cans.

Looking at the BSH revamp kit, and reading some threads on the US mk5 forum, the breather thats left seems to connect to the rear PCV breather at the back of the engine cover? Unless im reading it wrong?

Yes that's correct. The rear pcv breather, if fitted, is just a check valve.

I have a catch can fitted to my car and its only a 1 minute job to drain it. I drain it about once a month and thats doing just under 2000 miles. I used to have the PCV fix but still got oil in my intake as it vents via the rear port and back into the intake pipes. The Catch can stops that from happening and is the much safer bet after seeing what comes out of the can, its not pretty!

I have heard report of the revamp kit causing poor running on some GTI's can anyone confirm this? And the reasons why?

I can't help thinking that if a 'revamp' kit did the job, then why do folks use a catchtank system? I use a Forge system - Expensive but I much prefer it to the BSH I had and it's easy-peasy to empty.

Prefer the finish quality to the Forge kit. BSH prices offered a quick fix. Maybe in the future will upgrade (upgrade in respect of bay styling & quality of fitment) to the forge kit

I have gone for the fix as a temporary measure while I decide on BSH or Forge catch tank.
At least its better than putting the oil in the intake.

No, having the check valve will not make any functional difference when using the revamp kit.
The only time you will know that the check valve is there is by the soft put-put sound it makes when idling.
If you want you can remove the check valve (assuming your car actually came with it, my 06 plate gti didn't) but it's fiddy as you are advised to remove the hose that houses the check valve. This link shows this hose, http://oooo-a3.blogspot.com/2008/03/pcv-replacement-and-eurojet-valve.html .
Once you remove the hose just use a screwdriver to dislodge the valve and it will fall out. The reason you should remove the hose is to prevent the valve mechanism from falling into the turbo.

fwiw I have temporarily run this kit on my car in the past and encountered zero issues.

I don't think my 2004 will have a rear check valve. I just think the rear breather splits oil into the turbo intake pipe and sprays oil particles up towards the maf, causing issues with the maf operation!?
