im no expert but its along the lines of;

revo stage 1 = nothing needed, intake recommended = 300-310ish
stage 2,  intake, zorst, dv, fuel pump recommended - 310-330..
stage 3, above and other bits :p 330+

I think Revo now do a map specifically for people who have upgraded to a KO 4 also you could get close to 350 with the KO 4    you would also need the fuel pump and possibly the intercooler and intake + the obligatory turbo back zorst.

Make sure you have lots of money and that you own the car outright (not on finance or anything like that).

Do you mean you are upgrading to a K04 on a K03 platform or have you just bought an ED30?

Revo Stage one around 280 not over 300. Stage 1 map will give gains of around 40bhp but add aftermarket exhaust, add another 10%
Depending on which rollers you run it on of course
SteveS's other quotes on other stages are about correct. are on average correct.Stage 2+ will get 325-335 approx.
If your looking for 360bhp,Stage 3, look at JonnyC's build thread and start thinking of buying a winning lotto ticket to get the figure you crave. :happy2:

I think you should be careful and not be too power hungry as the cylinder rods may not be able to cope and bend>mucho dinero to fix.

the rods on an ed30 are uprated when compared with the standard gti engine so it can cope with the higher hp/torque.

Excellent  :happy2:

I am planning on dong exactly the same on my A3

Have you purchased a specific kit like APR's?  I'll be very interested to hear how you get on so keep us updated.

Realistically I think the maximum you will see is about 310 BHP.  I don't think you will be able to get into the 330+ numbers that the regular ED30 boys are seeing.  I think the main reason for this is the different CAMs which the ED30 has.  However you could always upgrade the CAMs too

yea my quotes were on an ed30, considering you have a ko4... all ed30s are coming around 300 plus a few..?

Revo has a TT with this mod and is highly tuned as well. It also gets hammered on a regular basis and has not missed a beat by all accounts.

had read that std gti engine internals could handle up to 370bhp but cant remember where tho :ashamed:

TC kicks in costantly with much less, let alone 370... i wish i could turn it off properly!

yeah thats where a lot of money has to be spent on supporting mods brakes, suspension, diffs etc
"power is nothing without control" and all that

....

Why seek such big power on a FWD car when you'll also be potentially stressing everything else unless you spend serious money on internals etc?

Either trade in for an Ed30 or 'do a jonnyc' and strip the car etc.

Even VWRacing's K04'd GTI 'only' pushes out about 330 bhp and is hugely helped by its Quaife and suspension, brakes etc. Get a Quaife diff!

You need driveability - All year round - You live in the UK!
