Just a small niggle..
the ED30 came back from the dealers after its service. I noticed that the oil cap handle was sitting at a funny angle.
In the past, im sure the handle ran from 9'oclock to 3'oclock (ie 180 degrees). After i got the car back, the handle is at 8'clock and 2 o'clock.
Im pretty sure the handle sat straight before it went in... if it was, what can cause it not not sit in the 9-3 position?
Ive took the cap off again and replaced it but always ends up at 8-2...
I could be barking up the wrong tree  but please could someone just check to see what position the cap closes at??
Thanks
Rich

9 & 3 on mine mate.

Just guessing but it could be that the cap "split" into two while with them and they re-assembled both parts incorrectly aligned.

hmm, interesting point.. is it easy to spilt and re-assemble?

I've seen folk post in the US forums about this splitting of the oil cap when trying to get it off. Additionally you can split and "mis-align" a R8 oil cap to get it to sit properly on a golf.

Just to jump on this thread, does anyone have any idea how much a standard oil filler cap costs? Mine seems to have "split" in half and the top half is missing!

I don't think they are a bad price mate?. Ring you'r local dealer. :happy2:

I had the oil cap split on my ed30.
I just super glued it back on and now it's fine.

Any idea why it may have decided to split itself? Don't want it to continually keep happening that's all and have bits of the cap bouncing about my engine whilst I'm driving!
