Title: Rusty MK5'S

Hi all

Have looked at 3 gtis hoping to buy one asap,unfortunately they have all had signs of rust in the usual places

Namely front wings and rear arches.  Obviously this is worrying for a car of this quality.  Do they all rust eventually?

This is putting me off buying a Golf and annoyingly Ive been saving for one for about a year now and annoying the wife by going on about them all the time.

Should I be put off?

If the rust is fixed will the corrosion come back again?

Any advice,thoughts is greatly appreciated

There do seem to be quite a few rusting. You could look at some more and specifically those that have been looked after by an enthusiast.

i have never seen one rusty and mine is 55 plate and came from southend somwere near the sea, rusty as f*ck underneath but thast it
