Hi
im in the process of upgrading the mfd2 from a rcs300. now ive wired it all up and everything works except that it doesnt seem to pick up my ipod thats in the factory fit ipod dock in the armrest.
was wondering do i have to activate this and if not what could be the problem
thanks

As long as its all wired properly, its just a case of going into CD and choosing the changer disc 1-6 then it should work
-
There may be a coding change required in VCDS. After I fitted an MFD3, I needed to recode to get the iPod lead recognised again.
-
MFD2 shouldn't need a VCDS change as its detected as a CD changer

dumb question but how do you choose the cd changer. also on other stereos e,g pioneer when i connect it the pioneer logo comes on the screen. should the same happen with the vw one
thanks

The same should happen - you should get a VW logo on the iPod screen

thanks gonna try it with another ipod and see what happens.
last question
when listing to cds im hearing a crackling noise in the background.
googling people are saying this is due to the earth wiring and then theyd include a link on what to do. the links are outdated. does anyone know what your meant to do to get rid of it
thanks
