Title: Servicing
Post by: Black9 on August 27, 2011, 01:19:28 am
Not a fan of the VW long life scheme so looking to get a service in between the VAG one. I've heard people recommend Castrol Edge oil, what viscosity? Also need some new rear discs, would use guys say get VW or would a motor factors be ok? Pads seems ok but will replace them at the same time!?

Also I have loads of FUCHS PRO S oil lying around, would that be OK to use? It's not long life but is still a high quality oil none the less

If you do a search, you'll find the answers.

5W-30 VW approved only. Fuchs is fine if it's vw approved.

All GTI cars should be on Time and Distance servicing.

How many litres of oil does the engine usually take?

4.5 litres I think if it's an oil change.

Is your Fuch oil fully synthetic and meets vw 502 spec at minimum?
