Title: MPG: ECU or coilpacks?
Post by: stealthwolf on September 11, 2011, 10:26:54 am
Recently scanned the car, found to have two coilpacks misfiring so I replaced them. Prior to this, my range was 280-320 miles. Afterwards, it improved to 350miles.

Over the past few weeks, commuting to a new workplace and getting 40mpg each way. I now see the range going up. Last night on a trip to/from London, I got 250miles and the needle hasn't reached the halfway point!

Is this down to the coilpacks being replaced, or just ECU adaptation?

 40-60 variable speed limits on motorway when commuting so can't drive fast. Just end up driving steady. Trip down to/from london was 62mph on cruise control pretty much the whole way.
