Title: GT Sport Lowering
Post by: JoeDarKa on September 15, 2011, 07:57:35 pm
I ideally want to lower my car. Dont particularly want coilovers so decided on some eibach sport line springs! Now im not sure which ones i need!

These for a 2.0 tdi

These for a 2.0 gt tdi

The second set only lower 2.0cm which is pretty pants to be honest!

Any ideas?

If its the second set I need, Il save a little bit more and go for the H&R ones which lower a little further!

Cheers all

The amount lowered is just the difference between the standard 2.0 tdi and the gt as the gt is already lower . if that makes sense

Christ, mine looks like a barge with no lowering springs, I shudder to see what a normal golf looks like with no lowering springs!!  :scared:

You need the second set :happy2:

The GT sport is 15mm lower than a normal Golf  that's why you get a bigger drop on the top set as they are for the standard golf. So basically if you fitted the top set to a standard Golf and the bottom set to a GT the ride height would end up more or less the same

Arrrgghh Darren, you did indeed get the last set. I'm in the opposite boat and am looking for a set of Pro Eibach Springs or H&R 30/35mm springs. I have Eibach Sportlines at the minute but looking to raise her up a bit for practicality .

Joe, if you are going for the Sportlines this part number is the one you want:  E20-85-014-02-22

I am trying hard to get replacements for mine (on a budget at the min  :sad1:) then you can have mine. If you can wait like 2 weeks?

Golf GT TDI on Sportlines and 18" rims:

Incredibly confused! Just rang awesome GTI and they said i need these: http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=28525&xSec=157

Which he said will only lower it by 10/15mm??

I was under the impression I needed these: http://www.venommotorsport.com/product_details.php?id=14556&manufacturer=HR&category=Suspension / http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=13918

I then went to search the springs that morty got through ebay with the part code 29260-1 which turn out to be: http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=28526

I feel a bit  :rolleye: /  :stupid:

The part number you gave me is a 35mm drop! Iv lumped for the 45/50mm ones, I think they should fit but will wait and see. If they dont then Il just take them back. Iv paid a little more for them from awesome, purely for if they dont fit, its far easier to take them back!  :rolleye:

Hey guys, i have the 35mm H&R's on my Golf MK5 GT TDI but the under carriage is scraping on everything, even on roads that are slightly uneven.. anyone else experiencing this who have the same drop on theirs?
