Post by: Edition_30_P on September 25, 2011, 02:37:06 pm
Hi Guys,
I need new Spark Plugs and, was wondering which to go for? Should I get the NGK IRIDIUM IX SPARK PLUG BKR8EIX which are a grade cooler that one variant OEM VAG plug at Grade 6 or, the OEM VAG Grade cooler plug? Do you know if theres a difference?

Thanks in advance!

Phil

I went with the Denso IK24s Phil like I said yesterday. They do cooler grades as well and with Stage 2+ you might need a step cooler than the 24s.

Back brakes all done, discs and pads.

Fronts.....going to tackle again this weekend. Got a mechanic mate coming round to sort the discs out.

Might have to delay the detail for a week if that's ok.

See this page for the latest info, it seems VW has officially changed to a colder plug:

F ing miss firing again.  Started spluttering under load on pump map  :fighting: :fighting:

On NGK irridiums at the min the "7's"

Might try densos but don't imagine they'd last more than 5k

I have a standard GTI w/K04 upgrade and more. I imagine it is like an edition 30 now. I've put in NGK Laser Platinums at around 50k miles. I have 75k miles now and it's been running great.

....I've had those on my car for a very long time and regularly change them every 20,000 miles. Keeps everything running sweet.
