Thanks mate wasnt sure how an "Edition 38" car would go down on here! The air ride was done by Plush Automotive im affraid to say so cant take the compliment!  :P Ive got so much i wanna do with the car but as is always the case £££ restrict me!! Ive been offerd a Mk6 R interior and black headlining and 90% off all the black trim items at a mega cheap price!! And i noticed an interior same as mine but for a 5 door go for £680 in  the classifieds on here, so that may have to get purchased ASAP! But the only down side is going from leather to cloth........

Once my insurance is paid for in december, itl be going in the bodyshop as there are a few dents hear and there as expected on a 7 year old car, the bumper hasnt been repaird properly from a bump i had in march and doesnt join the wings correctly and the headlight brackets are snapped beyond repair, so ive got a new bumper and new headlights to go on along with all the dents/chips being repaird, a new set of amber mirror indicators and some carbon pillars to go on once the bodyworks been sorted! I also wanna change the lower girlles from honey combe ones to the chrome ones, but can never find any for sale!

Ive also changed the rear fog light to one with the clear lense in, so both the boot lights match. Will get a pic tomoro!

Cheers Guys! Yeh Its SarahMk5, mines not a patch on hers.......hence why ive not posted the other pics from that photo shoot lol! Yeh the headlining will look mega just unsure about going from leather to cloth.....even if they or Mk6 R Seats!  :chicken:

Yeh as you can guess i much prefer it in summer!!! I Did have a set of CH Reps but a mate offerd me £100 and the R32 wheels which are genuine, at the time i needed the money and fiquerd that genuine 32 wheels would be worth more if i ever sell.......im open to part ex on some Monza's  :pomppomp:

Nice to see you over here Phil.
Car looks mega, even on the winter wheels! :happy2: :happy2:
There are a few people on here running the show cars/airride, just not quite as many as ED38.

Dave

Yeh thats cause they are wide Dave lol 10.5 rears with 215/40 and 8.5 fronts with 205/40s. There Oz Futura 3 peice splits, rebuilt with BBS RS Gold Bolts (as the OZ bolts require a special tool to split) Rear dish is about 3.5-4" Depending on where you measure from! There currently in the process of being split down, repolished and painted. I got the wheels with the car and have never been a fan of the grey! But just wanted to get the air and rear bumper fit for this show season. Then put a proper stamp of my own on the car for next season! So there getting done along with changing the lower bumper grills!

Like it.  :happy2: could do with some xenons though.  :happy2:

Yeh id love xenons but the price is ridiculous and i dont like black headlights! I Did try fitting an aftermarket upgrade is id previously done on my mk4! and well........lets just say I may aswell just have thown £80 in the bin!  :signLOL:

Saw this at Ultimate Dubs..  :happy2: Looks spot on fella!!

That's some absolute mad camber on the rear!! Im guessing thats set at Maximum negative camber? -3?

TBH Mate im not really sure but there is ALOT lol Ill msg the lad i bought it off and find out, but as its all been done properly and all alligned tyre waer is even! across the tyre and i ran them for all summer! If anything the fronts wear worse but if you look at the pics they look a bit postivey camber to me! :happy2:

that looks awesome, how much did u spend on the airlift?

Thats a question that really really annoys me! i get asked all the time! Mostly by little chavs who are just being nosey 2 hats! Im sure Al can back me up on this one!!! I Dont mind telling people who are genuinly intrested and considering air ride, but when you get people asking you the first thing they say to you is "How much was that mate" it kinda winds me up! If you realy wanna know i can give you Plush's details and you can email him for a quote! But it was a "few k" lets leave it at that!  :P

Also does anyone know what my leather is worth? Wanna know if im gonna be able to get a good deal out of this Mk6 R interior ive been offerd as itll depend on how much i get for my interior. Its grey leather no marks a tiny tiny little nick on the passenger seat not even noticable, electric lumbar and heated! Rears have been sat on maybe an hour in total since i got the car!  :stupid:

Hey Phil.
Have you considered the retrimmed ED30 seats that are on ED38?
http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=403558

If the ones you have at the moment are leather GTI ones, they tend to go for around £7/£800

Todays progress, went down to see my friends at Wheel Repair Centre (Shamless Plug  :notworthy: :signLOL:) Initialy just went down to get my tyres removed, and before i knew it we had one of the fronts split down! Took all of ten mins with two people and a socket on a drill!!!  Came home and spent another 3 hours taking the other three apart! Isnt as quick when your doing it on your own with two ratchets, one of which i had to go and borrow from my parents friend! Ended the day with them looking like this......just need to replace 6 nuts from rounding them off!  :chicken:

Ant, the only tyre fitter i know never to have a problem with wide wheels/skinny tyre combo! :notworthy:

Also took a drive down to plush to get my air ride looked at for a long long overduew check up! Ive had a bit of a leak from the tank so the compressors had always been coming on after starting the car when its been stood any amount of time, and have a nasty squeek sorting, squeeks gone after replacing a top mount from the bag strut and check valve from in the boot, but the leak still remains! Not all the time now which is good just when the cars been stood over night! Bit of a pain really as plush is a 300mile round trip from my house!  :surprised:

I'm not particularly into the air ride look, but I do appreciate a car that has had decent work done on it and I have seen a few Plush Automotive cars and they have all had a very high standard of work put into them.  :happy2:
I love the alloys too.

Cheers mate! I love how it sits to better then I expected but just how I wanted it!! Perfect imo  :drinking: nah the compressors seem to come on just as much, they don't affect the ride or anything as its only leeking from the tank!! My management has a leak setting on it for the bags! No idea what it does I just leave it set to on  deffo get to plush though! If I could I'd leave my car and a blank cheque down there.... :happy2:

Look ace Phil. You won't regret it, Will look great in your car. Could always pop them over to MJ's to get a real custom look and go half cloth half leather if you did miss having a cold ass throughout winter. :signLOL:

Yeh there Vicks seats!!! Got them and the black headlining and 95% of trim bits i need at a bargain price! (Have sourced one B Pillar just need passenger side and a black interior light  :pomppomp:)

Im still really unsure if im doing the right thing with the seats :stupid: Ive swopped the headrests round so the smaller rears are on the front seats and vice versa!! and i think when the cars fully dropped and seats are reclined a fair distance back it just suits the whole look of the car!! Low Wide Cruiser  :happy2:
Where as the R seats have a more sporty look about them obviously!! I Dont think the head rests are doing them any favours as they are HUGE so may see what my headrests look like and possibly get the fabric off the R's put on my head rests........but then my interior wont be worth as much Hmmmmm Speaking to Vik about it last night and he says im being way to anal considering i havent even  got them in the car yet!!! Im gonna have to fit one of the fronts with one of my leathers and go from there i think!!! Im hoping once i get one in all this confusion and doubt just goes! and i think WOW they look awesome!!! Al thats also another idea i have in my head possibly get part of them trimmed up with a nice soft looking leather. But as Vik said there out of a £30K+ car so arnt going to be any old seats............Will see how they look once i get one in!! then go from there  :driver:

Collected my interior and headlining yesterday...........That was a fun drive home from Leeds with a headliner resting on my head!  :signLOL: Got them in the car easily enough with no major problems!!! Bit that proved the hardest was disconnecting all the wires from the leathers!!!  :scared: I Think VW just invent stupid connections so people like us are put off from messing with them!!!  :scared: I Feel sorry for the auto electrician im going to be going to as the connections under these are completly differant there was 6 connections under my leathers which weighd a ton and i think 4 on the r seats!! So at the min ive got no heated function and airbag light on! But hopefully my auto sprky can work wonders!  :innocent: Also managed to make a start taking the headlining out but was running out of daylight so decided to leave this  for another day and untill i had the few missing trim parts i need. Got all the grab rails and sun visors etc out though.

Parts needed all in black of course are

Passenger B Pillar
Rear inteior Light with Reading lights
Drivers Grab Handle
Interior Light

If anyone has any of these......ive got cash waiting!! Other wise its a trip to the dealer  :rolleye:

So the pics, im really really happy with how they look! All the doubt of how they look has gone and i dont know why i made such a fuss lol! Allthough im already sick of having to wind them forward to get in nd out the back!  :jumping:

If anyone has a guide to help me remove the headliner itd be greatly appreciated, yesterday i was just randomly pulling at the pillars and trim lol!

I Also got a few parts with the interior i can sell for a good few quid (Another arm rest allthough ill fit this and remove mine as the new on has matching lid and slightly differant sliding mechanism, also got some air bags i dont need which ive seen on ebay for £150!!)

My Leather is for sale in the classifieds now to!

Transporting headliners isnt easy

Hard work lol!!! But winding them all the way forward and sliding them forward theres just as much room to get in the back as if they tilted just a little more effort!!! I very very rarely have people in the back so its not going to be an issue!  :fighting:

Bit dissapointingly my Auto Electrician told me when he was sorting all the wiring for them (airbag light and annoying beep) that the seats are not heated! Was a little gutted when he told me this as as i previously mentioned i thought going from leather to cloth was slightly backwards but the fact they were heated made up for it !  :ashamed: Id been umming and arrring for them for ages! But as they were heated (non electric lumbar) id get em! So to kinda of de-spec my car slightly has peed me off a little! Wether they are Mk6 R seats or not!!!

The headlining also is going to have to come out again, as the ribbon on the headlining for all the lighting is faulty and not causing my rear interior light and sun visor lights to come on! So its going to be a trip to Leeds to see Darren again!  :signLOL:

So in an attempt to cheer my self up , i spent all saturday morning with my mate Ant of Wheel Repair Centre building my wheels up! We only managed to get one done in as obviously customers had to take priority (I carried on with removing silicone from the dishes! whilst he delt with his customers :fighting:)

Now when I was stripping them down I managed to round off 6 nuts, so I had orderd 10 spare gold bolts (to replace the poorer condition ones)  and 20 spare nuts (M7 nuts are a pain to get hold of) off Justmatz. Ill let the pictures do the talking but im over the moon with how they came out! I had no photoshops done of what theyd look like on the car just said “Satin Black” lol! As my thinking is it will go well with all my black plastic trim! :ashamed: Went to a motorcycle shop I visit quite often a bit later in the day and managed to find some gold valves, so there a nice touch to match up to the bolts! :xmaspresent: Fitted new stainless nuts and bolts on the centre cap (they had no nuts on the back last year and I kept losing the bolt as only two of them hold the centre cap on) Put the carbon centre rings I had on them to, but im still unsure wether to leave them on or not! Got some little grenade valve caps coming at some point again in satin black /gold combo and some in just satin black! As you can expect I CANNOT wait to get them back on the car! :jumping:
Pics!

Few little updates......

Built another rear up and got another front built back up on saturday, Just need to build one more front up and give my tyres a good scrub before fitting them as there coverd in dust from storage.

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Foo285%2FSimpy2k%2Fphoto-7.jpg&hash=35341d8545d7bba3f148c45fda094ffc9c769445)

Got it serviced and retaxed it  Also my mate works at VW and she checked if it had ever been in for the ignition coil recal - it hadnt so got all 4 coils replace F.O.C which i thought was good as 2 of the ones they took out were genuine ones! Whilst it was in i also had my washer jet replaced as this had started spraying funny.

I Replaced my pollen filter to.

And ive finally managed to get hold of a set of GT Foglight grills for my new bumper just need to find a cheap enough replacement centre grill then it will be going into the body shop for a few dents removed obviously the bumper fit and painted etc.

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Foo285%2FSimpy2k%2Fphoto3-2.jpg&hash=74499a257e5118d43e93cd0b0d2f9fab8688d805)
