Title: Forge twintake Induction kit etc
Post by: housemouse on November 07, 2011, 08:56:53 pm
Hi,
I have a 08 vw golf gti mk5. I'm looking to modify my car but unsure which induction kit etc...
I was thinking the Forge twintake induction kit, Then Milltek full quad exhaust system followed by a re-map & a uprated dv..
The reason why i was thinking of these products was i found that they had good reviews & power gains. I'm open to suggestions if you think differently?....
I'm after a uprated dv first any suggestions?... I would probly prefer a Forge one but again open to suggestions?... Where is the best place to get one from?

Thanks for any help.

I'm probably biased as I have all that you've listed but I'd recommend all those products. The oem revision d dv is generally accepted as the best option, although some tests are being done suggesting there may be issues with it.

We have the ITG Maxogen in stock on special offer at the moment. For the K04 version it is £350 and the K03 which you will need if its a standard GTI it is £330. Inc VAT or delivery. We can do the twintake but they take a few weeks to be delivered as we are out of stock. I have the ITG on my S3 and rate it as the best intake on these cars  :happy2:

The rev D diverter valve is good as is the Forge item.

Could be wrong but I don't think Milltek still do the quad exhaust catback...

Ok, thanks. How much is the Twintake system del? What is the rev d diverter? Does it make the chavvy wwhhooossshhh sound my partner is after. Yes i have read about the ITG maxogen... I was thinking the twintake as its enclosed & thats best due to heat being sucked in... However the ITG kits give good power results.. I think though that i'll stick with forge. I also thought Forge as i wanted to keep items the same twintake, dv & twintercooler.

.
The ITG and Forge Twintake are generally considered to be be the 'best' for the 2.0T FSI but there are other factors in choosing an aftermarket intake.

My review may be of interest, as will reviews by others:  http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,9988.0.html

The ITG is usually louder than the Twintake but each car is different.

^ Custom made: Black ceramic coated jet-cut tips, ultra shallow back box hence the need for a centre section box but since reduced in size since this photo.

....Cheers  :drinking:

Yes, I think OSIR offer a GTI-style twin exhaust trim and a central Mk5 R32-style as well as the quads. Check on their web site.
