yeah thats the idea, i like the look of the vinyl but the matt finish gives it away as vinyl a mile off

I was looking today for somewhere to make a glassfibre / grp bonnet to carbon wrap and laquer.
Can't find a carbon bonnet for the Leon

Having said that I can't find fibreglass ones either :(

I plan on wrapping my laptop switch lid in carbon film and I will be applying lacquer, I will upload some pictures when it's done.

3M do a gloss Carbon Vinyl now which looks a lot closer to the real thing imo

There are a few video's on you tube that show the various effects of lacquering vinyl with mixed result. The more lacquer you apply, the more of the carbon effect you lose. The video I saw was using Di-noc vinyl, which is the matt CF effect . 3M now do a gloss CF vinyl, that may take to lacquering better.

Quick pic of the gloss cf Vinyl.

it looks spot on on your badge and fog surrounds.

Might have to give it a bash myself

I bet its quite addictive though and leaves you wondering what else you can wrap!

lacquering over some carbon vinyl's just ruin them and just turn them black and loses the carbon effect
