Why me, why now!
Just noticed that my garage has been emptied of three tool boxes, trolly jack and axel stands worth at least £700. Looks like they have pushed the top right hand side of the garage door folding it back just enough to pop the latch at the top of the door. What really, and i mean really annoys me is that i need to replace my front brake discs in the next couple of weeks but have no kit to do it with.
I reported it to the Police but they said there isn't really anything they can do.

Surprise surprise.... sometimes the police are decking useless.
Sorry to hear about this mate, but at least its things that you can replace fairly easily. :happy2:

Cheers Rich,
The Police have bigger fish to fry so a garage theft isn't up there in their list of priorities and i completely understand. I have to say that as my Wife works for Thames Valley Police.
The is another reason we are moving out of this country.
-
Dont blame you... we would be coming with you if we could :signLOL:
-
sorry to hear this mate, there are some scum in this country, my oh has been on at me to have more tools at home rather than having to remember at work what im gonna need, its things like this that remind me why all my tools stay at work
-
sorry to hear this mate--if you lived near me i would of done them for you f.o.c
-
The garage is about a 2 minute walk away from the house and this is the first time it has been broken into. I don't normally keep anything of value there but as we are doing some stuff to the flat in readiness to get it on the market i moved a load of stuff into the garage. I won't do that again.

I'm in Sunny Winchester on the south coast so a little distance from you but thanks anyway Andy :happy2:

THIS is not true. it's the police's job to investigate crime, end of.
sorry to hear about this mate, but as above at least it's just tools and not something sentimental

This was my worry so i have just installed 2 Autolok Stoppa's to my garage door and a alarm.

What did you expect the police to do then ?
-
Solve a crime  it's kind of the job they are employed for :rolleye:
-
As a bare minimum, they should have at least dusted for prints.
-
Im sure they would have had a look for csi and done house to house if applicable and looked for cctv but if all are negative what do you expect? There is not a magic spell to point out thieves!
Sorry to hear about your tools - will insurance cover it? (hope so)
-
Complete scumbags.
I'm assuming you have home insurance?
I would move back to Germany tomorrow, I really must be more conscious of security now back in England.
Hope you get your things replaced without too much bother

There is a difference between what i expect the Police to do and what i understand they are capable of doing given the current resource limitations. Somebody is coming round this evening to taken photos and a statement but that is about the extent of what they can do.
I have spoken to my insurance provider and it looks like it isn't worth claiming as my excess is £400 and as my policy is up for renewal next month i expect the premiums will sky rocket.
Just really hacked off with it all especially as i'm not going to be able to get the disks sorted for at least another 3 weeks.
