Here are some pics of my car. A little dirty thanks to the roads, but with Christmas, haven't had a chance to clean it and don't like anybody else doing it.

It's a pretty comprehensive spec as you can see. Couldn't believe the mileage when I saw it. I was actually looking for a diesel with the miles I do, but couldn't pass this one up. I do miss my M3, but this should be good, am enjoying the smoothness of the engine with the DSG at the moment and the ride is very comfortable and smooth. Hopefully get better economy with this one too, but so far am not that impressed, I expected better. It's not far off my M when I drove her sensibly.
It does need a good detailing which I will do in the Spring, but otherwise as you would expect, in excellent nick.
I am busy looking into upgrading the MFD2 to the RNS 510 and ripping out the present BT module in there and replacing with a newer one. I have already bought myself a MFSW with DSG paddles, just need to get the harness and the Highline steering controller now, so if anybody has one or knows where to get them, please let me know. In the future, I will definitely be getting the windows tinted and not sure what else, I guess I see how it goes.

Like! :happy2:
Plenty of modding potential there!
-
Wish ide of got the 2.0 tsi instead of the tdi now! Miss my gti power to much! Nice car man welcome to the jetta club
-
Thanks chaps. Plenty of modding potential, but I must resist, hahahaha. Wanna try and keep it as stock as possible. Maybe the wheels, maybe a splitter, maybe............. Arrrrrggggghhhhhhhhh it's happening again. :scared:
-
Very nice looking jetta!!!
let the modding start bud
scott :happy2:

Congratulations for your car. But on it's back is written FSI, not 2.0T. In UK there are different badges?
-
Thank you. Yeah I did notice that. Not sure why that is. I haven't seen any others so couldn't tell you if that is normal. On the options codes it does say FSi badge.
-
^^^ The red I on the badge means it's a 2.0TFSI :happy2:
Also the twin exhaust is the other clue

Got a couple of bits through the door today.

Also got a new Highline Steering Module from Ed, thanks mate, great to deal with you.
Just waiting on the steering wheel, MFSW harness and a bluetooth kit, once I make my mind up. Then hopefully do the install next weekend. Do I need any coding with the RNS 510?
Oh, and another thing, can I use the existing GPS antenna from the MFD2?
-
Ok, well over the past couple of weeks, had a few bits come in. Fitted the RNS 510, the MFSW with DSG paddles and finally this weekend, the OEM Bluetooth 7P6. Had a couple of issues with the battery going flat once, so without waiting for it to happen again, got a new Gateway off of Eddie-NL who has been most helpful. Big thanks to GTLee also for advice on the BT retrofit.
Here are a couple of shots of everything installed.

I did scratch some paint off of the Climate Controls as you can see in the pic, so will need to sort that out in due course. One things that is bugging me is that the colour of the front of the RNS is a much lighter colour than the black of the dash. Is this normal, is there anyway to match them with a new front for the RNS?
That's me done on the mods front for a while. Next stop will be 18" wheels and tyres and then will look at a remap of some sort. Perhaps after the Miltek system, but time will tell. As she stands, she's perfect, very chuffed. :happy2:
-
Nice looking Jetta you have there, looks nice with the RNS fitted.
I fancy one of those in mine maybe.
A set of GTI pedals would compliment your interior IMO
-
Thanks bud. Yeah, been looking at the GTi pedals. See how it goes.
-
Looks cool, so this has the same engine as a GTi? Wasn't aware they made 2LT is UK market.
-
Yep, exactly the same as the GTi, just not as common. There are way more diesels than petrols in the Jetta.
-
Nice jetta mate i am also a jetta owner but ive got the 2.0 16v tdi 140bhp like the mods you have done looks wkd with flat bottom wheel and the highline display all working together your rns fits nicely as well thats something that i wanna do to mine but im to busy changing my wheels lol. Just wanted to say nice ride bud and keep up the hard work well done mate.
Rich.
-
looking good bro ! look forward to more updates :P
-
Thanks chaps. Really enjoying it. Still miss my M though, lol.
-
Sleeper of a car, got lots of potential. Makes me sad that VAG used the 2LT so commonly :fighting:
-
Great looking car, Like what you have done with it regarding the interior mods. Certainly got me thinking now regarding the DSG paddles/MFSW.
-
Thanks, appreciate it. Done a lot more since then, but stuff you can't see. Have a look in the audio section to see what I have done with the sound upgrade. The MFSW is a must imo. Makes a world of difference. In hindsight, wish I had gone with the flat bottom GTi wheel. I have also changed the clocks over to GTi clocks.
-
Yes with regards to the flat bottom wheel, I think that would be the one I end up going for. I did watch one or two on the bay, but they ended up going for silly money in the end so resisted. I will have a look through the Audio section and take a look at the audio upgrades, and those will be on my list very soon. The unit I have in at the moment is just the RCD 500 with no MP3 capability, so that will need to be changed soon for one of the newer units. Once I get my head around sourcing the parts and researching how it's fitted etc.
-
Really want that rear valnce for my TDi - so I can get an exhaust system fitted without the rear box hanging too low!
-
Lovely car mate
Thank you sir.
