Apologies for the lack of posts recently, ive been way to busy with work and the R32 made me lose my interest for a short while. .
I put it up for sale a while ago and had a bit of a result with some idiot who left a deposit. I ended up getting a good price for it and found a sprint blue pre facelift S3 for 15k, low miles, all options etc... but i called up the next morning and it had been sold the night before.
So i trawled through pistonheads and autotrader and there wasnt much about. I hadnt even thought about looking on audi approved untill my mates dad suggested it, so had a quick look expecting everything to be quite expensive and found a listing for an audi s3 sprint blue with no pics for 17k, i called up and put a deposit on it without even seeing it and getting a very VERY good discount as well.
It was for sale in audi sunderland and had only been advertised 1 day or 2 days. I called and spoke to a lady called Channel who comfirmed it was a 2008 facelift in sprint blue with 'buckted' seats, that made my mind up.
When i was driving home in it i got a sudden sick feeling (and brought back many dark memories with previous 2.0tfsi's) because there was a surge then a drop in power then back on, its not that noticeable but having had problems before i knew something wasnt quite right, ive since found the previous owner and spoken to him and it has a few hidden features. it has stage 2+ revo in stock mode, autotech hpfp, sachs clutch, rs4 fuel valve and H&R rollbars,
So the issue is down to the pump and the stock revo map.
I was down at awesome yesterday getting Toms old H&R springs fitted so its nice and low now.
Just need a DP and intake and il activate stage 2+ next week.

I know the car very well - as a good friend of the previous owner.
I bought my Sportback after driving his S3 from the same dealer and same sales person at Wearside Audi.
The car is a diamond mate you wont be disappointed.
The original owner was (still is) fanatical about his cars. It's had no expense spared and been detailed regularly.
We regularly have detail days around mine ;)
Sold mine now as ive just gone back into a company car and am just about to start a Golf Mk1 Project :driver: and the previous owner of yours now has a TTRS ( as you'll probably already know).
A couple of photos of mine and his together.

How did you get that your tall and scrawny. :pomppomp:

Don't suppose you want to buy some rims whilst your on a spending spree as well do you (shameless plug :drinking: )
http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=425906
Sounds like you got a good deal from the dealer too eh !
Saved a fortune on the mods too. The clutch alone is a big bonus - one of the weak links on modding the S3 and it's already done.
-
im waiting for gazbut to sell me his CK's!
the pic has the standard rims on?, i thought the dealer had the price wrong because i couldnt find a facelift for under 18k and the seats were a bonus!
-
Doh - edited the thread.
Well if your after CK' s - this is what you want :)

Such a shame now though! :sad1:
:signLOL:
Is this Jamie Kips old car?
-
I hate you so much!
I have a sprint blue S3, albeit a poxy pre facelift one and I really am miffed at having to fork out for a Sachs clutch for it. Even at trade! I also want the fuel pump internals and H&R roll bars so you have got a real steal there :happy2:
They are great cars, even if I have had my fair share of problems so far with mine. Mine came with the buckets as well and I couldn't do without them now. So comfy.
Get some pics up :happy2:
-
Such a shame now though! :sad1:

Looks great Joe.
Really like the new shape S3's, and the seats are just  too.
Think the rear wheels need a bit of spacing out though tbh, but the wheels themself look nice too.
-
Wow. Love the colour. Wheels look fine IMO but the BBS CHs will look like the dog's danglies!

looks great Joe
A woman at work had the same until she took it for a service at my local stealer, the young mechanic took it out after the service and wrapped it up, put it through a fence and 40ft into a field, ripping the sump clean off in the process on the 97" curb!!
-
Don't be giving Joe ideas del boy.
-
That's probably why it was so cheap del boy!
-
1 male owner :P :P

How did the Statllers visit go in the end Joe?
Very good mate!! Stage 2+ back on the car, settings 8,7,6 car is smooth right to red line and pulls very hard, no flat spots or surges. Last owner had 9,9,6 :scared:
Just needs a few more bits from Steve, mainly engine mounts. :happy2:
