Just wondering where people are and if its hit you yet. I'm near Burton on Trent and not had any yet. Eager to get out and try these winter tyres :driver:
-
In Northampton we've had nothing as yet. they've promised us some for today but looking at the BBC it looks like it might be nearer the evening. I just hope it settles :happy2:
-
Is coming down heavy in wolverhampton and sticking!!
-
Not yet in Lancashire. However, we are experiencing some freezing rain :scared: which is making the drive very slippy under foot - the winter boots on the car were fine driving on it, but I nearly ended up on my :booty: trying to walk on it :ashamed:
Me and the 9 yr. old son are desperate for it to snow :sad1:
-
Coming down in Bath now

Why do so many people want it to snow?! It causes huge disruption, you can't drive a car properly, and it's freezing cold?! :indifferent:
-
You drive an m3 your not going anywhere if it snows :driver:
-
Because we get it maybe once a year in Northampton. And were usually the last place to get it so it's a novelty.
-

Ha! You're right there! :scared: Hence why I'd rather it didn't snow!
-
I hate driving in the snow too it's the fact people still drive up your arse while it's snowing :fighting:

Just started here too in Ripley.
Went in to the garage earlier to find my snow foam frozen and my sponge rock hard - hope my Karcher is ok! So much for getting the car cleaned this weekend!
:sad1:
-
We had our annual half a millimetre in Exeter this morning, the one place in the UK where it wasn't forecast to snow and just happens to be the home of the Met Office :stupid:
But it turned to rain by lunchtime and has melted again now. Thankfully it has warmed up quite a bit too which is a relief after several days of hardly getting above freezing.
You lot in the rest of the country are welcome to it now, we've had our bit of excitement for the year even if it only lasted three or four hours!
-
Chucking it down in Worcestershire. Started with a dusting about 11.30am then stopped for a bit. Quite heavy now and sticking. I've got to go to work later though :sad1:
I went scuba diving in a quarry on Wednesday in temperatures of -2 :stupid:

Complete nightmare. Travelling from London. Left around 5pm and it was fine but once I left the M25, it really started snowing heavily. Had to follow in the tracks left by HGVs.
On the way back, there was an accident involving three cars, another where some van had turned on its side and several where cars were facing the wrong way round!
In some areas, incl M42, the outside lane and hard shoulder were heavily snowed so out of use. You couldn't even see the lane markings and you could see people weren't in the correct lanes.
The Vreds held up beautifully though not perfect and I still skidded a little, though nowhere near as bad as last year.
Will seriously advise people to avoid travelling by car unless necessary and make sure you have emergency provisions eg blanket, spade, food etc.
If there's no improvement tomorrow, Monday is gonna be a nightmare.
-
It's turning to rain here now! :sad1:

We have about a centimetre or 2 in SE20 near Crystal Palace, but Metcheck is predicting a big dump starting from midnight onwards!!

Just how I like it.
-
R36 and Audi Coupe Quattro?
Indeed, latter being a rare beast. 5-pot N/A Quattro.
Both amazingly well. I live out in the sticks and we were hooning down untouched country lanes with ease, some with steep inclines. Q was on winters, so was running away from the R, 60+ on snow steering by flicking its weight alone is as close to rallying as I'm going to get. I wasn't driving though.
-
*please note tongue very much in cheek*
Just got it. Will put it down to combination of exam stress and five hours of driving in snow. Shattered.
-
Just had the snowboards out on the local dry slope. Quite spooky at night when you sneak on at night with no lights!!
-
Is it still snowing over by you jay? Stopped over near me ages ago

5 inches on the M25 tonight :scared:
M25 was stationary at around 9PM a complete nightmare, just after Junc 25 the lorries couldn't get up the hill, scattered all over the place, after about an hour of being stationary, the police arrived and we threaded our way through the lorries and the stuck BMW drivers, then had the whole 3 lanes plus hardshoulder to myself doing a steady 25mph, actually stopped at one point to let a car overtake doing around 40-50 (madness) as it was safer then risk him sliding into my while overtaking. For the first time ever didn't have to worry about the average speed cameras
The R32  did me proud even on summer tyres, but I'm not taking it out again until it all melts
-
We have about a centimetre or 2 in SE20 near Crystal Palace, but Metcheck is predicting a big dump starting from midnight onwards!!
I'm hoping for a big dump in the morning - but it wont have anything to do with snow! :booty:
My taxi awaits . . .

-
Had about 5 inches of snow over night here in east london but starting to melt slowly now, just brushed it all off the car so it doesn't refreeze so i'm ready for -5 in the morning at 4.30am :indifferent: and dug out the wheels so i can get off the kerb :driver:
Dave
-
^as above about 5" inches here in London too. Wish I stayed at home because now I'm stuck. According to the weather more snow on it's way for the South tonight and fog.
-
North London here... Went out last night with about 5in of snow and twice dug out tracks to get a bit of momentum in order to make it back home...
-
Still snowing here in Birmingham/Solihull. Cars struggling to get up the road now.
I drove from Oldbury to Solihull and back last night and it took me 3 hours  Went on the M5/M42 but returned via the Stratford Road and through the city which was a complete nightmare. The Stratford Road was stationary so I took a short cut through the back roads but even they were gridlocked. It picked up a bit as I went through the city but then I got held up on the Hagley Road. Nightmare, cars abandoned all over the place!
-
^^^I thought about coming off the M42 on to Stratford Rd and glad I kept on for Cov Rd.
-
Was in Birmingham over weekend - Snowstorm, Got back into London this afternoon - Ice City, rubbish!
