Title: What to look out for when looking for a GTi?

Hi guys, got my heart set on purchasing a mkv GTi and have been looking for only a few weeks. Was just wondering what should I look out for when looking for the right car? e.g common faults, signs of mis-use, whats considered low milage for these engines etc. You guys seem to know your stuff so any advice is appreciated. Air con compressor and ESP faults are fairly common, both resulting in hefty bills!
