Title: Rust on rear wheel hubs...
Post by: berg on March 12, 2012, 12:43:05 pm
After cleaning my alloys/calipers whatever I was using at the time has left an acidic/rusty marks on the hubs and discs.

was wondering whether should paint these black with bbq paint or just try and buff them with some Silvo wadding?

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I painted mine silver with Hammerite smooth.  Rough and clean them up with a wire brush / abrasive paper first to remove localised corrosion.

Silver looks more OEM but black would be fine if you wanted it that way.  My A4 has black hubs and black calipers  :driver:

Just be wary of applying too much to the face if you decide to paint that as you could cause a slight wheel imbalance.
