Iam not a big fan of changing OEM alloys but Greenouse's Gallardo's and Rob's look good as do the red ed30, you cant go wrong with BBS alloys.

That looks lovely!!

....
Although some of the aftermarket wheel alternatives look very good (and imo many look hideous!), I have to say that I don't understand anyone changing from the Monzas on the GTI (Ed30 excepted). The Monzas are such a distinctive component of the Mk5 GTI whole identity and are unique to the GTI. They are also really easy to clean!

I agree with you the Monza II wheels are the biz!. But it is about adding your s own style to something as well. My car is also white only the GTI comes in this colour so those in the know can tell its a GTI.
And may i add you state they are distinctive and unique part of the GTI and yet you spend millions on modifying your GTI but drive round in a scruffy old pair of Monza's, Getting them back to pristine condition would have been priority number one for me. :P

....I knew that someone would say that, the moment I posted!
I've spent time looking for a good refurbisher who could powdercoat them - I don't want to have to refurb them every year to lose the dreaded white worm. I've now found one - Pristine. No more diamond-cut+lacquer+white worm for me!
Working with VWR needs long term flexibility so it took time to get into their workshop for the Quaife. Plus my KoniFSD shocks need replacing and I've had the cracked manifold/turbo problem etc - So, looking pretty pretty isn't a priority and never has been with me - I only bother to clean my car when it gets dirty. I like to limit my monthly spend on my car.
I ran around for over a year with a deep gouge down to the plastic of my roof spoiler, and for months with chips on my aftermarket front splitter. Why does this bother some people? (Mostly those who are heavily into detailing). I'm heavily into driving rather than detailing but I'll probably pay someone to professionally detail my car next Spring.

my friend had a set of powder coated alloys on his bmw it looked well cool they had the matte soft feel- plus powder coating is supposed to help protect the alloys
http://www.rdmengineering.co.uk/powder_coating.htm?gclid=CO_hhfmO-pYCFQL91AodjlNaWg
Ive recently purchased some original BBS RCs, they have been powder coated, before they were the same finish as the monza 2s

Hi RR
I know its nearly a year later, but do you have any contact details for Pristine, who did the Powder coat, please? And if you don't mind a ball park as to costs.
I agree cpmplete;y "diamond-cut+lacquer+white worm" I also think the diamond cut is a bit bling. Though I do love the look of Monza IIs says GTI

....Hi Lee
I visited Pristine and there's no doubt that their work is very good. However, I found their attitude a bit disinterested whereas Nigel at A1 Wolverhampton (recommended by Greenouse) took more pride and enthusiastic interest - 01902 871422.
